Gotta say that following Rucka/Williams is a hard act to follow, but I'll definitely give this stuff a try. I've enjoyed Hine's work in the past.

Great interview. I've been enjoying Hine's work and looking forward for his run on Detective

Great interview. I was thinking about dropping Azrael after Niciesza left, but this new storyline sounds very intriguing. I'm glad that Hine will follow up issue #1's ending, although he kind of spoiled it when he described it as "suicide".
So March is now off Gotham City Sirens. I wonder who's the new artist on that book?
Why can't these be out already?!

I may have jumped to conclusions here, but I just figured he could only do one book a month. He didn't do GCS #7 or #10 so he's actually just done 10 issues (nine GCS+ 1 Batman) the last ten months.
If he is indeed off the book I think David Lopez who did #7 and a lot of Catwoman issues, would be a good replacement.
Nooooooo.... Scott Mcdaniels is on the art. DAMN IT WHY :(
huh, I didn't even notice he didn't do 10. Maybe he isn't on 11 either, we'll have to see. I hope he's not off the series. His female design is perfect for GCS. If anything, I hoped to see Dustin Nguyen and March switch Dini series and have March do some SoG and Nguyen do GCS. That would have been cool.
EDIT: And thats a no for issue 11. Huh, maybe he CANT do two books at once, and is focusing on the batman issues for april/may.

I noticed that as well, even though the solicits said Guillem March. Doesn't that make the book returnable? It seems like I might be right after all and we'll get a new artist on Sirens. Maybe even Andres Guinaldo has actually taken over the book and DC didn't bother telling anyone.
I gotta say, with no disrespect to Hine's work, that this is very jarring. DC is just shoehorning in his storyline from a mini-series into the ongoing Detective Comics. They're even breaking up the story even more with a stand alone story from classic Batman writer Denny O'Neil. No matter how good any of the story is, the presentation by editorial is a total failure. I guess 'll check out the two issues of Hine's and the O'Neil one shot. Though from #867 I'm up in the air. I actually like McDaniel as the new artist, but I don't know if I really want to continue this game of musical chairs on DC's flagship title.

The story was meant to be ongoing in a sense. Hine was planned to reveal the Black Mask as Jerimiah Arkham before the series even started, it was actually supposed to have been more obvious than it already was, so DC asked him to scale it back, then gave the reveal to Tony Daniel. So in order to let Arkham be exposed, they had to shelf Hine’s story for six months to let that arc in Batman be finished up.
I don't understand why DC didn't just published a 6 issue mini series and let Hine tell his story.
Instead of HI-JACKING Tec and other books.
I like Hine's writing so my complaint is more to do with DC than the writer.
