But again, that's not entirely true. SUPERHEROES of either gender can be expected to dress flashy and completely gaudy in some cases. And that's fine. But the spy characters tend to be much more low key. Simple costumes like Black Widow's costume, Winter Soldier's garb, The standard issue SHIELD jumper, etc.

It's just that Clint (Even though he lacks superpowers) is a superhero. Therefore the buccaneer boots. Bobbi is a spy. Even if her costume has no practical purpose, visually it makes more sense, imo.

    "Her death was touching."

Noob question: how was her death and subsequent resurrection explained?

She was actually a "skrull spy" who died, while the real deal was held captive by the skrulls for years.

Best thing to come out of Secret Invasion was her resurrection/replacement reveal. I love Bobbi. I'm glad she is being shown as formidable and take charge.

I think this is the first time I've ever heard anyone say that it's sexist to show a female character is a less revealing outfit.

Why isn't it? Because a woman decides to dress sexy or just plain attractively, they're not to be taken seriously? That's what the ugly girls say when they feel women are used as ornaments.

Did I say if I thought it was sexist or not? Did I say that just because a woman dresses sexy that they shouldn't be taken seriously? No, I didn't because I don't believe that.

    I need to say this,
I used to think the Mockingbird was bland and didn't offer much. I thought she was dull. I then read Hawkeye and Mockingbird, new favorite character.
    Just wanted to say that.

Mockingbird was awesome on the Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon.

The gliding thing was a little silly (has she ever done that in the comics?), but, yeah, she had a pretty good showing.

I am glad that you've changed your opinion. I fell in love with her after reading about her in the New Avengers Annual #3. I wasn't too crazy about the way she was written in West Coast Avengers (too neurotic). But she really has been improved since she's been brought back. I like her combination of intelligence and athleticism. She's a cool everywoman. She's a nerd in a swim-suit models body.

Yeah, but at least that gives a purpose to having the silly sleeves. They gave her some neat little tricks with the propeller thing she did with the staff, and the glider sleeves... but I still think it works for her.
