Rant ahead. Fair warning so you can hit your back key now rather than roll your eyes at me in a comment:
Regarding the previous spoilers: Personally, I can care less about Spitfire, but if Wally and/or Barry isn't back to stay by mid season (and in actual speaking roles)...neither am I. The show is good, but so were a lot of other DC animateds and I never went out of my way to regularly watched those either.
I really thought Wally was missing because he was out looking for the real Roy. This made sense as it was Wally and Dick who were the real Roy's friends.
Ugh.
(Yes. Patience...patience...but I'm so tired of being patient with every section of DC.)
This episode for me was a LOT better than the previous two. I still don't like any of the new cast but at least the story is picking up. They really did a number on Aqualad though. Even if he tries to redeem himself, I don't know how you come back from killing dozens of aliens, evil or no.
Agree that the story is getting better.
If Kaldur is actually working undercover for The League then he'll face the same ethical questions as M'gann over how they deal with them. Honestly, these are bad guys. I'm with Watson in the Sherlock BBC series on this: "But he was a bad man." If violent opportunists snuff it, I'm not going to spend much time crying over the loss. They (little alien gnomes and The Light) made the choice to be parasites who didn't care who they hurt in mass for the sole purpose of gaining personal power.
I just hope that Aqualad let himself be brainwashed by the League into being evil. Because I really think his actions are a little too much to be explained away by a few lines.
Sort of a reverse Identity Crisis?
Well, this whole season seems to be influenced by a Reverse Identity Crisis thanks to Savage, so maybe Zatanna did it.
Wow, this episode was awesome, definitely the best of Season 2 so far, and IMO I think it might even be the best of the show so far. Seems like the The Reach are the Kroloteans' "Competitors" and cool to see The Light working with both the the Kroloteans and The Reach/Competitors, also awesome to see Black Manta inducted into The Light, wonder how Ocean Master disgraced himself? I would guess Orm likely got his identity exposed to Aquaman and Atlantis and lost his position of power.
Aqualad as Black Manta II was awesome as well, wonder if he really turned evil or he is just really deep undercover? (not known to most of the Justice League or The Team) Either way I am extremely intrigued. And he took down Superboy like a boss. Wonder how Tula/Aquagirl got killed?
I wonder who planted the Alien bomb? At first I thought it could Mal Duncan due to the build of the person and it looked like he/she was carrying a shield and Mal Duncan might be acting as a new Guardian without the others knowing, but when I saw the rest of the episode I think the context of the situation does not make sense for it to be Mal. If it is a known character the only other viable candidate I could think of was perhaps a Scarab-controlled Blue Beetle, since it seems the elimination of the Kroloteans is in the The Reach's/Competitor's interests.
The 8 Justice League members going off Earth to stand trial was a smart way to remove the Justice League's power and presence on Earth for the rest of the season.
...hmm, yeah who did set the bomb?
They were clearly working for The Light, as Manta's people knew it was there but why obscure their ID?
Aqualad better be undercover. I want him back on the team--so not feeling Lagoon Boy. WTF is up with Ms. Martian "mind-raping" people to death? Is she finally becoming like all the other evil White Martians or what? Where's Wally? Red Tornado?? What happened with Speedy--both of them? This 5-year gap sucks. Also, when this season was billed as being about an alien invasion, I envisioned something along the lines of War of the Worlds or that dream sequence episode: the Krolotaens are like cockroaches. I'm not in support of the JLA going off to Rimbor (isn't that Ultra Boy's home planet?)to stand trial--what if they're found guilty and sentenced to death? Are they just gonna stand there and let themselves be killed? Speaking of which, I was hoping the League did something more than go on a rampage during those missing hours...that was a dissapointing reveal.
Speaking of revealing, anyonce else notice that the backdraft from that Kroletaen's ship burned off part of Bumblebee's top and exposed a little of her bust?![]()
Thus do I write the first chapter of my new scripture. And the first verse is "Let it all burn."
PHOENIX INVICTUS!
I personally feel that the JLA trying to prove their innocence was a good move on their part. Also I'm sure there is more to what happened with the league than what we already know. Something about that reveal isn't specific. I do question that with The Light still out there that The League isn't making taking down The Light their top priority. Not a nutty Connor/Megan shipper but even I have to question what Megan sees in Lagoon Boy, the guy is a complete tool.
"It isn't jumping the shark if you never come back down." Chuck
BTW. Poor Rocket, guess what she and Aqualad had was a one sided relationship.

Miss Martian did not kill the Krolotean, she just made him go catatonic, there is a difference.
All Rocket indicated was that she thought Kaldur was hot and gave him a New Year's kiss, that does not necessarily indicate she had full blown crush/love for Kaldur (though I am not stating absolutely she did not have one, just I think it is unlikely she had one to a great degree).
Hopefully Kaldur's a double agent. He's too cool to go evil.
