I fail to see how, pointing out that a certain character has or lacks a certain personality trait has nothing to do with raging.
If someone says something and the response is "you are very very wrong about that" or "you are utterly wrong about that" they aren't raging, they are just trying to convey how wrong they feel the person is. Feeling strongly about something does not equate to being pissed off or enraged.
Sure it's an opinion, but to have such an opinion would tell me said person has really not read many Superman comics in the last 2 decades. Have there been comics where he acts like a dick? Sure, but taking his overall personality as portrayed in the last 20-25 years? The dude definitely isn't like YJ Supes.Of course there is no "utterly and completely wrong" here as everything being said is a matter of opinion.
It's like me saying a certain book is shitty after having read 1 page, it's still an opinion..but not one anyone could really take seriously.
Nobody was screaming or swearing. I especially can't see any evidence of "raging" in the last few pages of this topic. But when people shout "YOU"RE WRONG, YOU"RE WRONG!" it gives a distinct and legitimate impression that they're pissed off about having their opinion challenged or disputed.
If saying something that essentially comes down to saying "you are very very wrong" equates to someone raging then there is a whole lot of rage on all of these forums.

A woman can move a lot faster with her skirt up than a man can with his pants down.

was the most recent episode Wally and Dr. Fate? or did I miss one?
A new one, "Downtime" is scheduled for tonight, but you wouldn't know, considering the craptastic job Warner Bros. is doing at promoting this series lately.

Tonight's episode was awesome. I didn't expect to like it as it was Aqualad centric and nothing kills my interest faster like Aquaman. Admittly, it was cool seeing that Garth exists on this Earth as well as Jay Garrick. I'm little disappointed that Aqualad's relation to Manta was never eluded to.
Between this episode and all the Aquaman stuff going on in Brightest Day I have to say that im starting to enjoy the whole Aquaverse.
It was awesome seeing Jay Garrick as well. All around good episode.
So you admit that Superman can act like "a dick" (putting aside the still far from fact based impression you have that his behavior in the cartoon actually constitutes acting like "a dick") yet continue to claim that anyone who thinks he could possibly act like "a dick" in this one, specific way is utterly and completely wrong? So are there certain categories of dick-like behavior that people are assigned and they cannot deviate from? How does that work, exactly?
You give lip service to acknowledging the opinion-based nature of the argument then proceed to use words that pretty clearly indicate you don't believe it even as you say it.
And whether or not Superman has ever acted in this exact way in the comics is irrelevant on many levels (most of which have already been addressed) with regards to whether his behavior is acceptable for Superman. But, again, it's already been addressed and you've shown no sign of giving it due consideration then so I won't waste any more time with it here.
Moving on.
