This week's new episode features training from Black Canary.

But you're making comparisons to their Earth-1 counterparts. This is a different Earth so it doesn't really hod up.

The police and the military have used high pressure hoses and water cannons for crowd control and deterrence for decades. It's an effective, nonlethal way to repel aggression.

And I don't think his weapons create electrified water constructs, per se. His weapons generate water constructs, but I believe the electricity is generated by his body. They're separate things that he can combine into a single attack.

*Maybe* Speedy/Red Arrow disappears in an explosion. Or maybe Red Tornado gets deactivated. But it's got to be something like that.
I'm not so sure. Gi Joe Renegades and the Transformers Prime both killed off characters in the first episode and they are Y7FV shows. Young Justice is TV PG so they could actually kill off a character if they wanted.

One thing struck me as odd, from the creators: "It's a young DC universe, Superman only showed up ten years ago." Ten years in isn't really that young? Hell, isn't it only 15 on the sliding timleline in the comics?
    A) I'd bet Zatarra (time line wise he's the "1 of these things is not like the others" member of this Justice League).
    B) 12 years last time it was given in print (Superman books during Busieks run); I guess these guys got sidekicks later.
Pull List; seems to be too long to fit in my sig...

My money's on Green Arrow. I can see his death taking a huge toll on Speedy and forcing him to take up the Red Arrow mantle.

And with that, man, I am loving the hell out of YJ. Aside from some minor irks with some creative decisions (I was hoping for Tim/Bart over Dick/Wally, Ms. M having a catchphrase), the wife and I haven't bounded over a comic based toon this much since JLU (Spect Spidey was her thing, stating that Peter & co. looked too much like extras from Scott Pligrim).

Really dug the YJ take on Bane as well, as it seemed a lot closer to his Secret 6 counterpart, which make me nerd happy.

I was thinking he seemed out of place too. But he's not a major character by many means. Hell, he was a silent cameo. I would have fogotten all about him already, if not for Conan O'Brien pointing him out in the Flaming C clip. "That's not a superhero, that a magician doing a kid's birthday party!"

Zatarra was an odd choice. one would expect Zatanna instead.

If they are going for a generational story as they appear to be, I can see why having Zatara to start makes more sense.

Especially given a possibility something could happen to Zatara that will result in his daughter Zatanna taking the helm

But there's no indication Zatanna is joining the show anytime soon, is there? We know Arrowette is coming.

Who knows? I actually think Zatanna here is already a grown woman and ends up joining the League.

I'm also guessing Zatara is the one who helps Kid Flash get over his denial of magic.

Zatanna was confirmed when the series was first announced, as a multi-episode guest star, not a YJ member. She'll be the same age as Wally I believe.
