"The Losers," opening this Friday, is a pleasing mix of laughs and action. Equal parts caper-flick and revenge-picture, it recalls a time when action movies were meant to be fun instead of morose morality plays.

This movie was awesome. Saw it last Sunday.

That's very good to hear. This is the comic-to-movie adaptation that I've been looking forward to this month, not Millar's over-hyped, garish nonsense. A shame it's been so overshadowed comparatively as far as attention and coverage are concerned (I guess it wasn't "controversial" enough), but I hope it does well this weekend. I loved the Diggle/Jock comic and it's got a tremendous cast (Idris Elba, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jason Patric), but that doesn't always result in a great movie, so I was glad to see a positive review on CBR for it (along with Spidey-kid1's accompanying thumbs-up).![]()

I agree. The Losers looks more on track with old-school 80's/90's Saturday Afternoon Telly (A-Team, Night Rider, Airwolf etc) type action, where the fun was the team dynamic & gun fights & car chases. No blood splatter, no huge explosions just for the sake of it, just lots of fun & a few laughs along the way.
(I mean lets face it: The A-Team were "A crack commando unit" & yet they could empty an entire (AK-47) clip & not kill anyone, or even hit their target)![]()

Exactly! It's not the kind of movie that spends any time dealing with collateral damage.
Even though the A-Team was originally a Vietnam black-ops team, they never emphasized the darker side of that coin. You never saw B.A. Baracus slip into someone's house in the middle of the night and slit their throat.
"The Losers" is in that same vein.
And man is it a fun flick.
