I'm still confused as to whether this will be a mini or an ongoing. And the hangman was the character i really got into for the short duration i read the books, but don't know a thing about the villains mentioned. i hope they come back at some point.
Glad to see the Red Circle characters still around. The Shield and the Web were good reads, and I'm happy to see they're adventures are continuing.
I am very, very much on board for this series. It's an exceptionally quality creative team. To be honest, Jerwa didn't impress me on Inferno, but his "Fox" backup has been gangbusters...last chapter especially, a real lyrical quality was evident that has been missing from a lot of modern comics.
That said, I'm just a wee bit disappointed in the paucity of Trautmann work in that month. Now he's just plotting the issues, where as before he was writing The Shield, doing backups in Adventure and co-writing Action.
I know Trautmann occasionally stops by here, so if he does, perhaps he can tell us if there are a couple of things in the works?
Also absolutely gutted that Rudy isn't on a title either, but he's DC exclusive so I'm confident that he'll be onboard some book soon.
I must say it's an intersting idea and for DC to have a premier Superteam working for the government and not one in the shadows like Checkmate would be nice for a change.
I would love to see if Uncle Sam and his Freedom Fighters would make an appearance or even an appearance by the JSA or even Superman, sort of a geek moment within the series for me, to solidified their place within the DCU.![]()
I am stoked for this series! Count me in! I'm surprised that DC renewed the license. I was afraid that they were going to go back into creative limbo. I'm not sure this series has a cold chance in hell of succeeding but I'll do my part and buy it. A friend of mine looks down on these characters and notes that ifanboy never talks about them. I'm always like" so..they are cool characters with good books err book now" *End of Random Rant*
I'm definitely giving this a look-see. I'm intrigued with seeing these heroes work as a team. The covers look pretty sweet.
Locke & Key, Saga, Thief of Thieves
so they're government sponsored? isnt that supposed to be freedom fighters? anyway they look interesting. but to be honest ive never read any old impact/red circle comics. i hope they become major players in the DCU

I'm very curious about the backstory of this version of Flygirl, and want to know more about "War Eagle" (Who I assume is brand new, but I could be wrong). For that matter, there's a lot we don't know about the Comet so for those who like seeing fresh faces (or even refreshed faces) this could be a real treat.

i was getting worried that the Crusaders was going to be just a one shot.
it's good to know that these characters will live on.
and who's that woman in white with the wings?

Nobody read them as solo titles what makes them think they'll read them dumped into a team book? Lame.
Well, more accurately 'not enough' people read them, as clearly a few folks who've already posted DID read the Shield and/or The Web. Hopefully, a #1 and a $2.99 price tag compared to a $3.99 one will help attract at least a few new readers.
Add to that some well deserved good word of mouth and it MIGHT have a chance :)

I can't imagine Rudy will be down for the count too long. His style is definitely impeccable; it's like a hybrid of J.G. Jones and Jim Steranko.
I was talking about this the other day with a friend of mine. I'd love to see Marco Rudy pencilling the next event book.
I agree with Den. I enjoyed The Shield sporadically, but was frequently scared away by the $3.99 price tag and the co-feature didn't hold my interest; however, I think DC is doing the right thing establishing a team book at a $2.99 price tag.
I'm going to give the first arc a try, I think. I hope they keep Stanley "Artgerm" Lau on cover duty.
