DC Comics has announced that John Cassaday will be the new regular cover artist for "Superman" starting with issue #701, joining new writer J. Michael Straczynski and interior artist Eddy Barrows on the title.

John Cassady has got to be one of my favorite artists ever, but this just does not look very good to me. It's not a very good fit in my opinion.

Amazing cover; really iconic. Can anyone tell me if a reader new to the current Superman status quo can jump in to the new JMS run? I'm loving what he's been doing in Brave and the Bold and what he did with Thor so I'm prett curious.

I don't like this all that much. Too much dead space on either side of Supes. Maybe it will be filled with text and look better.
