AGAIN!? But that trick never works!![]()
Yeah, this idea really looks brain-dead on arrival. Talk about redundancy.
Seriously???? How many times has this been done?
I am not really looking forward to this, hopefully I'm wrong.
"Of all people, you know who I am...who the world needs me to be. I'm Wonder Woman."
Hmm, well won't stop me from buying. Most stories are half recycled stuff anyway...it's just how it is executed.
Bring it on I say. Can't be worse than turnstiles and pumping gas...![]()
The art looks good, if that's an actual image from an upcoming story.
Insert deep or humorous quotation here.
So the new artist team? What's the verdict? Seeing I don't know much of them. From what I see that image looks haunting.
I'm not usually one to complain, but didn't we just get Paradise Island and the Amazons back?!
I was looking forwards to this, now I'm just unsure...
Casanova, Iron Man, Justice League, Action, Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Firestorm, Swamp Thing, Animal Man, Stormwatch, I,Vampire, Voodoo, Saucer Country, Mrning Glories, Rachel Rising, Stumptown
Well, the Amazons have been back for about 15 issues... so naturally, it is time to destroy them.
So radical!!!
"Of all people, you know who I am...who the world needs me to be. I'm Wonder Woman."
Let the deconstruction of the character begin...

The main issue is that most writers approach a title in a vacuum, primarily thinking about what they're going to do, and what their plans will be for the book. Often they don't take the whole picture of the character's history as well as the universe as a whole into account. One writer blowing up Paradise Island for shock value, if they were the only one to ever do it would be fine. But because it's been done, over and over and over again by different writers who don't think about the long term effects on the fandom, who DO think big picture, and how blowing up Paradise Island ad nauseum grates on their nerves.
Just as every writer who takes on Aquaman has him get into marital trouble with Mera and then exiled from Atlantis by ungrateful citizens, or Martian Manhunter undergoes a tough trial to overcome his fear of fire for the fifth time, some characters undergo the same plot over and over again because the writers aren't looking at the big picture. They are just focused on telling their stories, and while that laser focus can be helpful in making a strong impact, the opposite occurs when you have readers who take everything into consideration.
And man, given that the interdimensional exile during the Mod Period is back in continuity, Paradise Island doesn't deserve that name anymore. It should be called Agony Exile Island of Despair at this point. Suffering Sappho...
