Teen Titans had its Fourth Wall humor, but they didn't abuse it like a dying dog with cancer like in USM. USM has sooo much unnecessary jokes and 4th Wall humor. Teen Titans also managed to make their show pretty dark but then again, we're just at two episodes into USM (tho, judging by the tone of the first two episodes... i doubt we'll be getting as dark as Teen Titans)

The thing about Batman and the Bold is that the writing and animation fits the tone and humor they're going for. The drawing isn't too detailed and is reminiscent of the classic Batman cartoon from the 60s (?). The jokes are really fourth wall humor and self contained in its universe. USM on the other hand has superb animation that would fit a serious or at the very least, not a poor-'comedy-show'-for-kids. The humor or at least the delivery of them feels unnatural and constantly making the audience know it's not to be taken seriously, losing that tension found in many cartoons that makes them engaging or even worse, interesting when watching USM.

I REALLY hope they fir- I mean, replace the guy(s) responsible for enforcing the humor of the show. If i was the guy behind the audio, doing the audio cues for the humor, I'd feel ashamed of reusing cartoon sound effects from the Hanna Barbera cartoons.

The VS crap in between the fights is just a waste of time along with all character previews every damn time. you really dont get to see any action or fights they focus more on making every scenery into a childish comedy. I hope to god they do not put Spiderman in the Avengers series.

ok so Avengers and FF get owned by doom but baby spiderman team can take down doom ? I mean for real, that made doom and the avengers look bad. They should have waited awhile to do a Doom apperance in the spiderman series. not have doom appear so soon after owning the Avengers last week.

It was a Doom Bot the team captured/took down it was pretty evident. I liked this episode way more than the first two, loved the team being transported to SHIELD via detention lol.

The REAL Doom as suggested by the end of the episode will show up later on.

I think that Nova's been a New Warrior for years demonstrates that there's nothing wrong with this placement here.

And the reason they're here is because Spider-man is more experienced and Fury wants him to show the others how to be heroes and not just soldiers.

I knew it was a Doom Bot as soon as Doom was taken down (If it wasn't a Doom Bot this show would go on the list of most disrespectful comic based cartoons ever). There is NO way in hell that the Ultimate team would take down Doom... I liked this episode better than the last couple; however that's not saying too much. Also, I swear to God, Thor, AND Darkseid if I see that stupid jetpack gag one more time I will actually go crazy and commit murder... Well, at least Doom was played completely straight...However I did enjoy him more on the Avengers EMH.

This is what i had my issue with the latest Spidey episode:
    - Like the previous episodes, Spider-Man is reckless and immature, but the first two episodes we're meant to be Power & Responsibility for him, yet he still acts immature on this episode and he even is aware of it. Likewise we have White Tiger and others not reporting Nick Fury on what they're doing.
    - Nick Fury "the Superspy" has no clue about where the kids are? He has no idea whats happening with his own SHIELD Agents? Whaaaat theee? Not to mention being completely okay with this? Not to mention DOCTOR DOOM NOT using his Latverian rulership as an advantage againts SHIELD for what the kids did?
    - Sam Alexander and Peter's rivalry is forced, blandly written and not real-like teenage hormone issues whatsoever. Just really childish.

The writing for the show isn't pleasing for both adults and children, which is sad, because just that kind of fightning is what stops this show from ever ebcoming as good as Spectacular Spidey, Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Batman: the Brave & the Bold, Superman TAS, Batman TAS, JL/JLU.

I did like Iron Fist and Luke Cage, which from looking at forums seems to be one of the few reasons us grown up fans are even bothering with this.

I thought this episode was pretty damn good.

This show definitely has the potential to be the one of the best Marvel cartoons yet (nothing's touching EMH). I was particularly impressed with the quality of the animation compared to other Marvel cartoons and DC's output. DC still edges this show out but it's a step in the right direction for Marvel cartoons.

A few other highlights for me were the Matryoshka Doombots, especially the squeaky voiced one, White Tiger being the brains, Spidey's banter (ignoring the cutaway gags), Coulson going native and that every member had a good showing.

I know more people probably prefer YJ, but I find this show to be the more entertaining product.

Why would anyone report in? They all agreed that they wanted to take down a bad guy to get back in Fury's graces. And yes Spider-man was reckless and immature, he's still a teenager. Teens are like that, but when it really counted he a) stepped up and took charge and b) took responsibility for the rest of the team's actions although he clearly had an agenda there.

Again, they're teenagers. Teenagers still do childish things.

And I say you're wrong. I'm 26, and thought this show was great.

After watching the 3rd episode, I have to agree with every single thing you said. IMO, the 3rd episode was garbage. The breaking the 4th wall stuff was way over done. Also, the whole idea of Spidey and those other teen heroes being trained by and working for SHIELD is such a bad/stupid and is out of place idea for a Spidey cartoon (or comic). Spidey working with a team of teen heroes is fine (and IMO, a very cool idea). However, Spidey and his team SHOULD NOT be working for or being trained by SHIELD.

Quesada,Dini,Loeb, and Bendis are all equally to blame for this mess. It was Quesada and Dini who came up with the 4th wall breaking idea (which isn't a bad idea if it's done rarely and at the right times). Loeb, well his recent crappy work in both comics and TV speaks for itself. Bendis most likely came up with the idea of Spidey and friends working for and being trained by SHIELD. I should also point out that Bendis also worked on (in a very limited capacity) the crappy MTV CGI Spidey cartoon which was canceled after one season.

Terrible. Not anywhere near the quality in terms of plot and pacing as Spectacular Spider-Man.

Sadly, that's pretty much my main reason for watching this show.
