There's some promo art on ComicsContinuum. I see Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Nova, Nick Fury, Iron Fist and Moon Knight (maybe?) in there.

Incidentally, the site also seems to indicate the likely death of Wolverine and the X-Men.
This just in: Chris Sprouse has pulled out of Orson Scott Card.

Nice poster. I'd still rather a season 3 SSM one though

You're kidding right? That 90's cartoon was full of horrible stock animation .

Anyway, It's a shame to see Spectacular go since it was at the level of the DCAU stuff.

    God dammit.

I'm sure this show will be fun, but I loved Spectacular.

I hope they don't use the ultimate designs. I have no desire to see Hulk Goblin or Leather-lectro showing up in the cartoon.

Yeah, it didn't age well at all. I remember loving it growing up, and I loved how it translated a lot of the then current stories to the small screen, but I watched a few of the episodes online a few weeks back and it was cringe worthy. The theme song was still as awesome as I remembered though.

I’m sad to see “Spectacular Spider-Man” finally getting shown the door. Although it’s no surprise given that there’s been a complete lack of news about it lately. It’s easy to figure out that Marvel and Disney wanted to put their mark on a Spider-Man animated series right from the beginning now that they have the animated rights back. Also I’m sure this will help to drive the sales of “Ultimate Spider-Man” comics and trades. It’s just disappointing to see “Spectacular” come to an end since it was such a well-done show that could be enjoyed by fans of all ages. And it clearly drew inspirations from “USM”.

Despite my sadness in seeing “Spectacular “ end, I have optimism for this new cartoon because “USM” is one of my favorite comics of all time. I just hope Marvel and Disney bring Greg Weisman to help out with this new show. I’m willing to bet they won’t because they’ll probably want to give this show it’s own feel but clearly Weisman has a good handle on how to do a great animated high-school Spider-Man show. I would also hope Bendis gets to be a consultant for this new show.

Exactly. I too watched as a kid, but time has not done it any favors. Especially compared to the DC toons.

Anyway, the new show seems to have a "Marvel-Team up" thing going, so i'll at least give it a shot.

Sad Spectacular ended on such a down note though

Doh... Knew I forgot to watch something on my TiVo.

Anyway... Poor Spectacular. I wonder what the knew show will look like. For some reason I keep thinking of the actual comic, but that's not very likely.
    Bad news everyone...

I'm sad to see SSM go away. It really grew on me over time. The Animation wasn't my favorite (the eyes kind of got to me), but lookinback at the 90's cartoons, they don't really age that well. Same with the original X-Men show.

X-men Evolution seems to have aged better. I still continue to enjoy reruns of that show when the come on.

I just read how Wolverine and the X-Men might not be coming back either. That is a shame as I really enjoyed that show from the first episode and was looking forward to Apocalypse in the second season.

I think SSM was the best Spidey cartoon produced. When you objectively look at it compared to the older ones it should be at the very top. I'll miss it but that being said, if that promo poster is really how the new show will look and it will have guest stars like Iron Fist I'm pretty damn excited.
