    Damn...i liked SSM.
Carnage and the Scorpion were to be introduced in Season 3...in the other hand, i never liked USM except for the Ultimate Knights arc.
There must be some Moon Knight.

Oh, and btw...with the Avengers movie probably coming in 2012, does this mean that the Ultimates will show up in the USM toon?
An animated Ultimate Six would rock.

Well, maybe we'll get lucky and they'll get Kevin Wiseman on board to produce the series.

No, it was pretty much Lee/Ditko/Romita.
The Green Goblin is the anti-Spider-Man
Dr. Octopus is the anti-Peter Parker

The 90's Spider-Man show had a good pilot.

But I will contend that there has never been a good adventure cartoon where bad guys weren't allowed to shoot real guns, and where the hero couldn't punch anybody in the face.

And I'm not quite sure what to make of this new show. If it's a team-up show based on the Ultimate versions of characters, we're going to have a problem, since a large majority of those characters exist only as mirror opposite versions of their classic Marvel Universe counterparts. Do Marvel and Disney really want to muddy the waters with these bizarro adaptations of their characters at the moment in time they should be trying to cement their most iconic DNA in the public consciousness?

My guess is they're not that stupid, and this show will contain the classic characters with maybe one or two of the Ultimate trappings for the Peter Parker stuff. Also note that Bendis isn't involved, so that should also tell you something. Maybe they figure he had his shot with the MTV show.

And I wouldn't read too much into that promo image. It's obviously art from the comic book, so I'd bet they don't even have the basic designs settled on yet. Please no floppy Peter Parker hair, that's the main thing I ask.

Also, someone should tell Marvel and Disney that ultimate means last. I think they should call it Antepenultimate Spider-Man. Then they'd at least get a couple more cracks if it doesn't work.

Clearly, you've never seen "Rubik, The Amazing Cube".

No, I just assumed it would be too frustrating.

No, Bendis isn't involved because he's busy with Powers TV show. He did say he read and liked the pitch.

Anyway, this seems to be happening because Sony lost the rights for making spidey Cartoons. SSM was produced by sony, with sony leaving it wasn't going to continue.

I hate to tell you, but if you look in the upper right hand corner of the teaser image, that seems to be exactly what we're getting.
And I hope when you think of me years down the line
You can't find one good thing to say.
And I hope that if I found the strength to walk out
You'd stay the hell out of my way.

I have enjoyed all 26 episodes of this series and every moment of it. In this short show, Greg Weisman and his talented crew of writers, directors, voice actors, producers, and several others have managed to do something even the revered Bruce Timm had some trouble accomplishing: a tribute to several decades of Spider-Man history with excellent, consistent quality. Every episode made me care about the characters, about the stories, about every fight. There were moments that created feelings of happiness, sadness, pity, anger, and excitement. Overall, The Spectacular Spider-Man, though cut before its prime, will be remembered by me, along with several Spidey fans.

Thanks for the show, and good luck to the crew of the new Spider-Man show. Some big shoes were left to fill in, and hopefully, it can accomplish it.

I'm not sure if this is legit or not, but it does seem Spectacular is over. This new series is gonna have big shoes to fill to replace the best Spidey cartoon ever.
I still have trouble believing people were holding out hope.
I thought the show was awesome too, but it was obvious for a while we weren't going to get it back.

Doubtful. It's probably as simple as money and corporate. It would have cost Disney more money to co-produce or whatever the frilly hell with Sony, or something like that, than just making a new one.
As for the concept, well, this way they can keep a concept that has been shown to work.

The comics? Videogames? Movies? DVDs of previous series? Give the new one a shot?
Those are really the only options (not trying to come off sarcastically, really trying to be helpful).
