I thought the 90's series was considered to be one of the best animated shows of the time. Of course nothing reached the level of Batman the animated series, but Spidey had great ratings until TV execs decided to cancel in favor of Spider-Man unlimited

    STINK BURGERS!!!

SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN WAS AN AWESOME BURGER CARTOON!!

why do the good ones always get canned???

"Superior New Day" is temporary: but maybe Juggernaut can be the new She-Hulk! And Skeletor can be Battle Cat. Darth Vader can be Princess Leia in the new Superior Star Wars! Unleash the Whacken!

    Guys this isn't just a solo spider-man cartoon, it's a marvel team-up cartoon!

“Ultimate Spider-Man will be a unique journey exploring our favorite web-slinger as he teams up with other fan favorite Marvel Super Heroes in never before seen stories with a new life filled with great challenges, new friends, intense action and character growth," said Eric S. Rollman, the president of Marvel Animation."

Looks like marvel has it's brave and the bold! Wonder who will show up?

That's just personal taste on my part. I thought the 90s series had mediocre to sub-par animation, overwrought dialogue and cringe-worthy voice acting. I thought the DC Cartoons at the time were far superior in all respects.

Batman was by far my favorite of the time until it was drawn like superman/with a darker style, but wasn't a big fan of the superman cartoons.

I somewhat agree. I thought the first couple of seasons of the 90's show was pretty good, but after that it was poor.

Biggest annoyance was the overuse of Kingpin at the expense of the other villains. And the repeated use of stock footage, too.

So does this mean I can work on my Spectacular Spider-Man season 3 fan-scripts now?

Seriously though, if this does mean Spectacular Spider-Man isn't being renewed, it's very disappointing.

Damnit, Spectacular was the best Spider-Man show, and definitely one of the best cartoons. Oh well, at least I still have Brave and the Bold.

This news isn't too bad, I mean spectacular Spider-Man was pretty much ultimate Spider-Man so at least the tone of the new show will be similar.

... will the heavy PG-13 content of the comics be toned down, hmm..

... I don't like the idea of a bunch of folks finding out spidey's identity, early on.. or him losing 50% of his fights..
