I like how Jason Aaron seems to be doing 'movie rifs' with Weapon X ~ the first arc (i just got the trade) Felt a lot like the Bourne Identity in pacing and action, and now we've got 'The Terminator' in the MU ~ it's clever use of MU concepts too, adapting them to fit these story archetypes.

Did the 2nd arc have an obvious film correlation?

I love how Aaron actually researchs the characters that he's writing...it's a rareity nowadays lol! This book makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, even though there's killing haha. This is my favorite book on the market! Wolverine, Cap, Bucky, Deathlok, The Thing, Spider-Man, and more all is one arc! This book makes me geek out every month. I have no idea why it's so slept on...it's fantastic. At the very least I'd say it's one of the Top 5 books that Marvel is putting out right now.

I kind of wish Aaron excelled as much with a character other than Wolverine, or at least helmed the title book - I often end up buying his stuff, but purchasing a Wolverine satellite title makes me feel dirty.

Well, Shutter Island hadn't been released yet, but he could have used Lehane's novel as a springboard. There are also episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Twilight Zone, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Stargate SG-1 and Smallville that have similar themes. If there is an obvious cinematic correlation, my degree is failing me. Perhaps Bergman's Persona?

It should make you feel dirty...but in a good way! The book is so good! This is the first time that Wolverine has been written correctly for a long time. This series has everything: Government conspiracies, romance, sci-fi, horror, kung fu...the writing is amazing, the art is amazing, and the supporting characters are amazing. This book is entertaining as hell. There's nothing to be ashamed of when you're buying a Wolverine title that's good! Hell, I'd but a Squirrel girl title if it was good. That's all I care about. I just want to be entertained and mentally stimulated buy the book that I'm purchasing...I couldn't care less which character is starring in it as long as it entertains me. I just recently went back and re-read the whole series up to this point and it has been awesome. Hopefully, after Origins ends, the books sales will rise some.

Yeah I don't understand it...CBR hasn't even reviewed the last 2 issues...At least the promotion has been good lately...I see the ads popping up in the other books...but a lot of people are jaded now. They go "Wolverine's so overexposed" and they don't even check it out. They're missing out in my opinion...

Jason Aaron is pretty much the most underrated writer at Marvel right now. His PunisherMAX is moving a lot of units either, but it should.

Agreed totally. This latest arc is genius....Steve, Deathlok, and Bucky...and more. It's a great story line.

According to Jason Aaron, the 2nd arc was inspired from the psychological-horror film Session 9.

The 0 arc...Manifest Destiny was Big Trouble in Little China with Wolverine.

As for the issue after the current story....the requiem...sounds like another nail in Nightcrawler's coffin to me.
Static Pulse: That's why I like you. You're like four degrees away from being a William Gibson protagonist.
