Yep it's on life support, I knew that would be the case when it was announced that Gail was leaving. The most vocal people were her fans from Yabs.

That's not true at all TripleX. This forum attracted many, many people including some of the most vocal members, who were not part of YABs. You know how many people came over from the DC Boards who ended up as regular and vocal posters.

I am sure there will be plenty of activity when 600 hits and JMS joins.

I agree, I really don't see the correlation. I mean, yeah it was cool to be able to discuss WW directly with her writer but I'm not any less interested in posting here now that the new writer won't be.

Guys, every forum has slow periods and periods of intense activity. This was a new forum introduced in September 2009 with the writer of the comic not only the impetus for the forum but also a moderator on it.

Now that Gail is a poster here like everyone else (i.e. no longer a mod) and not the writer of the comic as of 601, it's logical that the traffic would slow a bit here. Gail's still a vital member of this community, and she will post here when she has something to say.

This forum isn't on life support at all. When 600 hits (a landmark issue to be sure), there will be a flurry of activity here and on every other Wonder Woman forum to be sure. As long as Wonder Woman has fans, this forum (and all others) will remain vital and necessary.

Don't be silly. What you see is a lull is Gail fans stopping wath the HEY GAIL threads and no more FeminineMystique posting 40 times per day here. It also has nothing tg do with -27nothing hap|ening' becaqse apart frcm one Gail issue per ionth, almos| nothing has been happening since this forum started (Blackest Night? Donna looking trashy at a photoshoot?).

Anyway, Gail has already said Wonder Woman is going to appear in some form with one of her works, we'll get an influx of new people with JMS and then even more when Morrison's Wonder Woman graphic novels start coming in. More people than are here now will be reading Wonder Woman and posting here with 600.

Well yeah and not to mention ALL the drama from the fans constantly berating Gail and being despicable at times with their personal attacks not just to her but to the fans who loved her run. So, since she is at the end of her run with Wonder Woman THOSE fans don't have nothing to moan and complain about YET anyway until JMS takes over and it will begin anew.

I wonder what they are doing now with all their free time until then?

I think talking about THIS forum is forum-specific, especially because we're also talking about the lack of Wonder Woman related info coming forth. Now, if you want to flirt with nightforce, the Social Chat thread is the perfect place for that. :P

As Mart said, people just have things to do (in addition to the transition period we're in with the comic), so there are many reasons for slower traffic.

I've a lot on at the moment, moving flats for one, so I'm taking a bit of a break until we know more about the "new direction". I just don't have the energy to invest in speculation atm, when we've so little to go on. I'm still enjoying the forum and look forward to Gail's remaining issues: Rucka leaving Batwoman/DC has probably taken the wind out of my sails more than anything :< It felt really important; it actually got me buying monthlies and enjoying the experience (I got into the habit of reading them along with Wonder Woman and Secret Six on separate weeks at a lovely Cafe around the corner from Forbidden Planet. It's a little bit of time to myself I look forward to every week and BoP was going to round it off to four titles :/ ).

Lol, I don't think this forum is dying. Most of the people who've responded to this post are the people who post here every day. You want to see a dying forum go check out the DCMB's. It's like a ghost town in there. It's kind of sad actually considering how much time I spent there over the years. Glad I have this place.
