I fear Juggalossus/Colossanaught is basically just going to be beat down a lot.
It really sucks, he is my favorite character in all fiction, let alone comics, After his awesome ressurection in Astonishing from his lame death a few years earlier by that hack Lobdell, he became wallpaper. That stupid tatoo on his chest was supposed to be the follow-up to Kitty being in space?
After Whedon established Peter (and do not call him Piotr, that was a lame Excalibur thing) as a reader, not just a "tortured artist"? I do not care what other X-books dans think, Whedon wrote the best Colossus since late-80's Claremont and Cassaday drew him in his human form better than anyone else in the modern age.
I really dig this thread. The Colossus fans know what's up here, and know how Peter has been under-utilizied since 2008, and before that, 2000. But I was hoping KG would make Colossus back to being awesome. Instead, we recieved Colossus with the stupid flat top in human form, fighting an alien with one arm who kicks his ass, and then he has these powers that writers like Bendis will write Rulk kicking his ass. Sucks. Whedon was the only guy to write his character well since Claremont.

We've also seen Colossunaut put the smack down on Kuurth. Gillen has stated that Colossus will have a significant part in his X-men run. What I'm seeing is a slow build up to what will be the total take over of Peter by the Cyttorak. Honestly, I think this is the best thing that has happened to the character since the Whedon run.

I agree. While we haven't seen Petey go full Juggy (yet), I think all of this is a build up to what KG has in store for him.

I've also noticed the way Illyana seems to always have a look of concern or has a hand on him. I think she knows what's really going on in Petey's head and is doing her best to calm him and keep the demon at bay. I'm not sure if this is an artistic coincidence or KG's influence.

I just hope when Petey does finally "give in" to his possession that Cyttorak is not taken away from him. I want to see him struggle with good vs. evil for a very long time.

One simple request though: lose the current outfit and helmet. I want to see him in something that's all black and red. And if he must have a helmet while Juggyfied, then let it be a much smaller one to compliment his head.

There is no way Colossus with Jugg's powers will end well. Besides getting beat up every other issue while powered-up, the writers (KG included) will continue to make him so much more boring than Fraction did that when they kill him off again (trust me, he will die in the next 2-3 years) no one will miss him.
They had the perfect opportunity to make Peter the kick-ass, interesting character he was meant to be post-Whedon. Now we get a psuedo-Hulk (who will be pounded down by Rulk) who will die in Kitty's arms while she is dating Iceman.

I agree that they easily could have done without the Juggy powers and simply made Colossus naturally live up to his full potential of a class 100 powerhouse with a dark streak inside that he has to hold back(it was already established by Whedon "I am Rage" and then the whole crazy Rasputin in his mind angle) but this development is at least something new, exciting and different and at least Colossus is being used to some extent.

My money's on the opposite happening in AvX, I think Colossusnaut will probably unleash something terrible on the Avengers, we'll finally see him do some damage and he'll kill someone and then cyclops make the descion to have magik strip him of Cytroakk. Hopefully, when its over Colossus is at least left with either a portion of the power or Cytroakk helped Pete reach his full mutant powerset. I just dont want him to go back to being 2nd string again....

Sorry to be such a downer! For real, I really dig this thread and all the fellow Colossus fans here. I have been reading it for a while, and decided to join the forums last week because I am getting nervous about where they are going with Peter.
I will try not to be so negative. It's just that Colossus has been my favorite character for many years (I am 35 now, so maybe 29 years?). The only time my love of comics leaks into other parts of my life has to do with how Colossus is being handled in the books. For example, if I were to meet up with some friends at a bar or wherever, somehow I will find a way to bring up frusteration over Colossus. Brushing my teeth in the morning, I will think about how they seem to be planning on making him a villian again. I read tons of comics, but for the most part, it's just another hobby, except when it comes down to Colossus. I have no idea why.
Toys, statues, heroclix, etc., I just really dig the character. My on-again/off-again girlfriend jokes I have a man-crush, but she also knows I can be the same way with my other interests. Sorry to be so long-winded here, but when they killed him off in 2000, I more or less stopped reading comics, besides a few indies I liked. Eventually, I started getting back into the mainstream superhero stuff, so imagine my delight when Astonishing #4 came out. My LCS guy saw me walk through the door, and said "Brace yourself".
Anyway, that's enough out of me.

Major dissapointment looks like Colossunaut is going up against Thing, always dreamed about this fight years ago but now that Peter has got an upgrade it seems like pointless fight. If Colossonaut does anything BUT steamroll over him it will be major jobing. Personaly, would have much rather seen a vs Hulk, Redhulk or Thor battle:
