Did Ultimate Colossus die in Ultimatum?
My favorite issue featuring Colossus.
Even though he broke my Kitten's heart, as Storm said in the issue, better he had died on the Beyonder's Battleworld than inflict pain on her.
There are four stages of matter. Solid. Liquid. Gas & Don't. It's science.
I am a male. Deal with it.
Someone's got to write a good story with Colossus just to get the awful taste "Lovelorn" left out of everyone's mouths.
I mean... this guy became a long-time enemy of Piotr from when he harassed his papa in a flashback during it..
Just... no.

Collosus is a great visual character, but that often seems to overshadow any personality he has.

The Rasputin clan are among my favorite characters in the X-world. The only family name that matches their greatness is the Guthrie clan, with all those delightful mutant children.
Colossus is the hotness of the X-Men.
Kitty's first love and mine. I mean, how do you NOT fall for a guy like that?
Ginormous steel soldier type with a soft artsy center? sizzling.
I look forward and remain hopeful to reading some exciting stories showcasing Piotr. Go Russia!

"Um, blah, blah, blah. And, Girl Power. Feminism, d'you know what I mean?"
Colossus would be more interesting if he was a member of the American Communist League and went around SF handing out leaflets for the revolution.

My introduction to Marvels "Man of Steel" was in Secret Wars. That is also were one of my favorite Colossus moments takes place. It is where he saved a bunch of the heroes that were going to crash land in a plane (or spaceship?). Before Secret Wars, I did'nt know much about the X-Men, but they all seemed really cool and mysterious, and Colossus was the coolest looking character of the bunch. I wanted to know more about the big metal guy that did'nt say much. Here is some of my own Colossus fan art.

I really like the Colossus character.
I think he has tons of potential as a character, but he really needs a writer that "gets" him.
I also had yet another concept.
Colossus would make a great framing device for the x-men comics.
He's kinda quiet, a real softy and knows most of these peoples as his fiends in the story.
Draw on the old school russian storytelling style to reference the stories that would show colossus artistic style.
Then contrast it a bit of that russian "gallows humor" when he gets into a conflict. It would help bring him out to the users and surprise people when he goes "all out" in both action and speach.
show him throwing buildings, tanking shots that would drop pretty much everybody else, and generally being one of the scarriest bricks on the planet.
It's why I included him when we did that thread on what you wanted for a separate x-men team.
Mine was Savage X-men and consists as follows.
Magneto
Kitty Pride
Colossus
Magik
Rogue
Quicksilver
The relationships here can act as springboard to rejuvenate all the characters involved.
Colossus has interesting relationships with pretty much all of these characters, save quicksilver, and that would be a great contrast as well (a real softy, but tough as hell vs a badass with a ton of emotional baggage).
