Ha! Emma's my girl but that was priceless.
And that was what I liked. The books were fun. I'd missed that. This scene cracked me up.
Your X-obsession is fascinating and almost commendable-bebopeva88.

I think that is pretty key and I totally agree. It had some stuff for the long time fans ,(like Peter's return) but if you had basic knowledge of who the characters were, you coudl read it and not feel totally lost.

I can't take someone whose never read the books and start them on UXM now, it would be impossible to follow.

When my husband got interested, I started him with AoA without even thinking about it. Oops. I don't think I could have given him a worse place to start. He read one book and I moved him on to Whedon.

Yeah, Whedon's definitely the way to go. Or Ultimate X-Men since the whole purpose of that book was a relaunch accessible for new readers.

Both my husband and my son loved ult. X-men for just that reason. But since it's kind of over they started on the main titles. They've read Morrison, Whedon, and then I had them jump ahead to Messiah CompleX and go from there. They also read some of the big Marvel events like HoM and Civil War just so they would know what people are talking about.

I haven't ever read Secret Invasion but I read all the tie-ins

I tend to stay away from events. The last one I collected was Messiah Complex which I have issue of due to what happened with Bishop afterward. Bah.

Crossovers and tie-ins have pretty much pushed me away from most Big 2 books and at one point I went fully Indie. Only Secret Invasion tie-in I read was Black Panther which kicked ass. Get a copy of that trade to your husband and son pronto!

When I first gave up on comics, it was for exactly this reason. I only started back up less than a year ago after a 15 year long bow out. However now I'm a grown up so I don't have to worry about my allowance. I don't spend $400 a month on clothes, shoes and make-up, so I can justify my obscene comic obsession. I solved the mega-event frustration by buying EVERYTHING. Which is playing right into thier hands, but hey, at least I'm not doing crack. Although crack might be cheaper.

I'll check out the BP SI. BP is like one of my youngest top three after Hulk and Falcon.

I love Cassaday's Emma outfit there. Why can't the current hacks on Uncanny incorporate that into their work?

I loved that scene too. It was also kind of funny because the other Marauders that were there pretty much shat themselves and hightailed it outta there when they saw Pete go off.

Yeah, I definitely need to read that book. Where there other bad-ass Piotr moments?

In that storyline? No. Theres a specific reason for that, but if you have'nt read it yet, I dont want to spoil it for you.

I was'nt a huge fan of Leonardi overall, but I always thought he drew a really good Colossus. I think that Bachalos version is very reminiscent.
