Colossus, the Lovable Russian Commie Appreciation

Just dusting this thread off.

So, Cable & X-Force 08 came out today, and I have to hand it to Hopeless, he's being very good to Colossus in this series after a slow start. And despite this being a Cable headlined book, Hopeless spreads the glory out between Cable, Colossus and Domino in a satisfying fashion. Contrast that to most writers who have Wolverine in their books, who feature him to the detriment of most other characters. One of the reasons I like Whedon's Astonishing X-men run so much is that despite Cyclops and Kitty being the featured players, everybody got multiple chances to shine, and Joss never kowtowed to the Wolverine fanboys.

Truer words. I'm so glad he has control of this book instead of the Humphries absolutely destroying the other X-force book. Judging from the solicitations we're getting an issue dedicated solely to Colossus and Domino pulling off a robbery. Sounds like fun.

After reading CatXF #8, all I can say is what I've been saying from the get-go of Marvel NOW... "I Believe in Hopeless."
I knew the pay off was coming and I was just waiting for it to be cashed. Nothing extremely big, but definitely something worth smiling about for several weeks. (:

I agree that the treatment of collosus by hopeless is awesome im so glad that theyve ditched the whole "oh my god my sister/ Katya waaaahhh from him lol.

The way Colossus was being launched in space from CaXF #8, anyone noticed he wasn't wearing a space suit or anything? It was stated in the 80's that he doesn't need to eat/drink/breathe while in armored form. If that was intentional, that was a nice nod to continuity.

It has been stated he could not survive long in the vacuum of space (but this was back in the updated Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe in the 80's, when he could only lift/press 70 tons ((yes, I have his whole entry memorized, I am a PNR homer))). So maybe as his strength has increased so has his durability.
