So, yanapryde called it. Petey knocked the Thing the feck out! While I'm happy it ended well for Petey, I'm mostly mehish about the issue. The whole Red Hulk panels were awful. Petey saying how he's unstoppable was cheesy. And having the Thing hit Petey so hard that his helm vanished was lame.

X-Men 30 looks great (I haven't had a chance to read it yet). From what I can tell, Petey has more lines (and sentences) in this one issue than in all of KG's UXM run. And guess what...Wood writes Petey as if he has a brain and not some brooding oaf from the back woods of the former Soviet Union. None of this "da" and "nyet" crap here. Petey is Americanized. Thank you Mr. Wood!!!

The only question I have is if Wood's Colossus is still the avatar of Cyttorak or not. His head is still bald and he has some of the Cyttorak arm bands, but he doesn't talk or act like he's possessed by Cyttorak. So...I dunno what to think. All I know is that I'm very happy with this issue and I'm sure I'll be even happier once I'm able to read it when I get home later today.

Just checked out the latest vs. A great win for the Rasputins. Thing finally takes a loss and Magik takes out the Widow. I have nothing bad to say about it. I expected Thing to have a good showing because of the success he has had vs Namor. Even so, he didn't do as good as I thought he would.

Well I have to give Marvel credit for giving Colossus a solid win. I also did not expect them to show him clearly more powerful, but they did. The only down side is the Red Hulk page which seemed only put there to make Hulk look good and Colossus look bad (and Thing indirectly).

    HOORAY!!! Rasputin Dominance!!!

I admit I'm a little confused by Colossus's helmet continually being 'sploded' and/or knocked off, but....I say its much more symbolic than protective. So I'm fine with it. Whatever.
So long as Piotr crushes the competition, who cares about that thing. ha ha ha!

Looking, very much, forward to how he'll be using his portion of the Phoenix power in coming issues!

You're so totally correct. We're spoiled.

I wouldn't worry about it. Don't forget, the writers and artists have to remind us how powerful Gladiator is so we can be in amazed by his down fall later in the issue. I hope it is Colossus that wrecks him though. They are due for a rematch.
