Default Colossus, the Lovable Russian Commie Appreciation

There isn't much love going on for our big manly Russie, Colossus. He's an artist, lover, and gentle giant who isn't afraid of getting down and dirty and snapping a person's neck or dropping a car on an enemy when his friends and family is threatened.

He's also one who keeps to himself and enjoys using his hands to create a work of art through paint or sculpture or plowing the field. But he's always welcoming to a friend in need. And he has an awesome visual. And who doesn't love to see him crushing a vehicle every now and then?

Here's a thread for Piotr Rasputin.

Back in the very first topic I've ever created on this forum, I was very much ignorant to the greatness that was Colossus. Here you'll find some great posts about the character from fans. I grew to love the character after finally reading up more on him after this thread. Thanks, fellas, if ya'll still out there.

I Appreciate the Character. Astonishing X-men would be enjoyable with him back or at least more so.

I like his design. Character hasn't really won me over yet, but I do appreciate the Ruskie.

From Mutant Massacre up until Lobdell got his hands on him he was a very engaging character, but now he's just window dressing.

I liked Brubaker's take on him when he went to Russia with Kurt and Logan but hardly anyone seems to write him convincingly. He should be one of the main reasons to pick up an X-Men book but he's currently portrayed as a whiney bitch; tap into the darkside that's been hinted at on a number of occasions.

    Ha! WBE, that's awesome.

    I dig these two costumes.

    And he finally has pants!

He's a sexy stud. Makes one question his man-hood.

I dropped Brubaker's run after a few issues. What issue does that story-line show up, Meadowsopranospimp?

I only usually read in trades but Divided We Stand had the three of them head to Russia and it was very much like the way Claremont used to write the three together.

I think I may recall seeing a page or so of them hanging out and getting caught up with some Russian mobs. Was it that story?

i looooooooooove him (except fraction's emo version of him where he just cries about kitty all day). he and kurt seem like such great, nice guys and deserve more screentime than douches like scott.

Yeah, it should be in all X-writers contracts that the three of them get into a barroom brawl every two years or so; Havok can go too as he's got previous for it with Peter and Logan during the outback era.

I like Cyke. But yes, there should be some focus on Colossus and Nightcrawler.

I also dug their friendship in the Ultimate Universe and for a while liked the direction Kirkman was going with Nightcrawler being uncomfortable when Peter came out of the closet. Just wish the rest of the writing were betetr after the Date Night arc.

I like him! He's just a good nice guy without too much emotional baggage like most X-men. He is like the extra guy to fill out the team and make the book more fun visually.
