How about we get a writer and an artist instead and get back to making the comic!

I still doubt this is going to happen for the silliest but yet most hollywood reason of all.

They can't call it "Runaways." In theaters RIGHT NOW there's a movie with the same name starring Dakota Fanning and that chick from Twilight. They either have to wait a few years (about 6 or 7-ish) or they have to retitle it.

I never read it but all I hear are great things about it.

I would watch any comic adaptation to the big screen.

Now I have to see if I can get The Runaways in trade.

I wonder what the glowy-hair chick (Shame I read both volumes of Runaways and can't remember anyone's name) will look on the big screen.

    She was cool.
    Bad news everyone...

    Karolina/Lucy in the Sky.

I haven't read Runaways since the Strangers in Paradise writer took over.

Cautiously excited about this. Not much to build a franchise around though.

This dude's claim to fame is "Nick And Nora's Infinite Playlist"? That movie was awful IMHO. Not a good sign in my book.

A better route would be a direct to DVD animated feature.

Yeah i've heard that but i hope he doesnt take it or get offered it, i'd think he would be a much better fit for Runaways.

Not really. The Runaways biopic is a small budget film in limited release that likely won't be seen by a wide audience and would have very limited overlap with the target audience for the comic-based movie. According to the article, production on the Marvel Runaways film won't even begin until 2012 at the earliest, and then it'll be another year, year and a half after that, at least, until it hits theaters (and that's a conservative estimate; it'll likely be longer). Even if everything works like clockwork for Marvel's film, by the time it hits theaters, the Runaways biopic in theaters now will be a hazy memory. Hell, it'll likely be a hazy memory a month from now.

I think this movie would be great for capturing the Harry Potter/Percy Jackson/etc crowd.

......I've not seen anything Directed by this guy so I can't really judge.

The Odds of this being good are slim to none. But I do want it to be good. After Immomen destroyed the comic for me, I really want something to make me love "Runaways" again.

Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist was pretty forgettable. Though this guy also directed Raising Victor Vargas which was pretty good. It'll depend on the script and cast.
