Robinson: "Can I just say that there are characters that I wish came back that didn't, but Ted Kord died a true hero's death," saying that bringing him back might diminish that.

Hmm, so all the people they brought back didn't "die a true hero's death"? I kind of find that hard to believe.

I find it easier to believe that the DC writers can figure out a decent way of using Ted Kord. Too bad they aren't willing to ask their fans, who could come up with plenty of cool uses right away.

Heck, team him up with Booster Gold, and you don't have to worry about him overshadowing Jaime because he'll be traveling through time for the most part.

Give him an Oracle type role, away from the Blue Beetle character.

That would be like bringing back Hal, but not as a GL.

It doesn't work and it won't stick (as we saw with Hal).

Fan notes Winick's history of writing homosexual characters, and essentially asks "who is gay in JLI?" Winick jokes "The better question is, who's not gay in the JLI?"

Chance of David Finch drawing Lobo? Finch: "That would be awesome." Johns: "Who would he fight?" Finch: "Everybody."
Heh, this I want to see! :D

To be fair, he seems to have a good sense of humor regarding his reputation in general.

What's going on with Mogo's social life?" Johns: "He has a girlfriend. She's a moon." Fan: "Seriously?" Johns: "No, that's a joke."

    Johns is funny

And it's true--back in the day the sexual tension between Beetle and Gold was so thick and hot you could cut it with a butter knife.

But is it wrong that I kinda want to see Mogo have a planet for a girlfriend?

Oops, my bad. It worked perfectly and created a brand new and interesting character out of a traditional veteran character.

Morale of story: An old favorite character can be recycled into an interesting new character if the writers want to do it and spend some time to do it. If the writers don't want to put a second of work into the character, nothing can be done. When in doubt, hope Geoff Johns seeks pity on him during his next big event.

"died a hero's death" by what logic? Died a hero's death because he was ignored by all the other heroes and was beaten mercilessly and then shot in the head? Yeah, that's SO heroic right there!

It's about as heroic as Martian Manhunter's death, which was...not much.

Oops indeed on your part. Perhaps you should go back and read your old trade of the Killing Joke because Barbara Gordon certainly never died. But it seems stretching and distorting the facts to fit their opinions seems to fit the modus operandi of the 80s fans.

Next we know, you'll start denying that Ted died heroically or start berating the new BB and calling him a token. Oh wait silly me already happened.
