It's about time we got more info. This sounds weird but interesting. And it looks like Frank Miller won't be involved in it.

Well, the good news is that Frank Miller's not involved anymore, but i'm still not very hopeful for this. And, as much as i love Neal Adams' old work, he seems to have a very high opinion of himself. You could argue that he's earned it, of course, but a little humility wouldn't go amiss.

And 12 issues? I was much more interested in this as an OGN, so i might just wait for the trade.

Humility really isn't his style. I've noticed that Adams often comes off like this in print interviews but I don't much mind it. First of all, I've met him a few times at conventions over the years and he's just about the nicest guy you can imagine. Much more humble in person. He'll take the time to sign anything or chat about any old thing. Great guy.

I find his lack of humility kind of refreshing, actually. He's a legend in the industry and I'm almost glad he's kind of flamboyant.

As for writing the series, I have no idea how that will be accepted by the general public. I suspect it won't go down completely without a hitch but I don't really care. I'm just excited to see some new artwork from him after such a long time not doing work between the covers. Hopefully he gets to tell the story he wants to tell and hopefully it's well received by fans.

I'll get the trade...when it comes out in like 3 years. Neil Adams...12 issues...um..maybe the trade will be done in 5 years.

While he does come off a little odd at times in the interview--it seemed like he almost solely talked about himself in the third person--I'm really curious to see what he'll do. I really can't wait to get my hands on this book.

Really looking forward to this. Adams' Batman was definitive for a long time, and it's great to see him returning to the character.

Most artists seem to have an arc to their career, with their best stuff coming out somewhere in the middle of their time behind the art board. But I have to say, it's great to see Neal's current work is some of the best of his admittedly impressive oeuvre.

Historically, his writing has left a lot to be desired, but if the whole book is this gorgeous, I don't think I'll mind so much.

I'm a bit disappointed that Frank Miller won't be involved but I hope it will be good anyway. As for the interview, he speaks pretty highly of himself, and I know his work is good, but I'm not sure it's that good, especially his apparent storytelling abilities he goes on about.

Probably would work better as an OGN, rather than a 12 issue series.

This could be epic. The Adams/O'Neil Batman is basically the benchmark by which I measure all other takes on the character. I think it'd be fantastic if Adams could bring us a story that once again redefines Batman for a new era.

I think that'll hurt it, that lack of Miller involvement. Yeah, he's sort of taking the piss with All Star, but when he wants to his actual prose are gorgeous and visceral.

He doesn't need to fake humility. He's not some rookie just in the door. He's Neal Adams.

If anyone deserves to have an ego, it's Neal Freakin' Adams. I'm a huge fan and I look forward to see what he has planned.

I'm also very happy that Frank is no longer involved --honestly, he's not even in Neal's talent bracket. That being said, if he's writing the story and doing the dialogue himself, well, I don't know what to expect, but he's definitely got the guts to do things with Batman others wouldn't and at the very least, the book will be beautiful.

I love his pencil work, but he does have an ego.

And, his ego has hurt his work.

Those recolored and retouched Neal Adams' hardcovers are atrocities IMHO.

I will never buy a single one.

Thinking he could himself recolor those stories "cuz he's Neal Adams" is ridiculous and hurt those collections.

DC discarded their history, and now has none. DC will always be in the shadows of their past work.
