    Default DC Universe Legacies *SPOILERS*

Does anybody know exactly what the deal is with this series? I find the description on the DC page kind of vague. I understand that the series is going to be some sort of retelling of the history of the DC universe, but is it an alternate take on it, or all in continuity? Are they going to go over major events like COIE, or tell new stories that are just set in the different periods of DCU history? Are they going to get all the way to modern era, or just stick to Golden, Silver and Bronze age?

I'm really curious about this series and debating whether I should add it to my pull list or not.

    What do you all think?

I think it's sort of a Marvels-inspired story, told from a street level POV. And, yes, it's in-continuity.

From what I understand, it might be a collection of stories, as opposed to an individual narrative. A recent interview with JH Williams III revealed that he'll be doing a short story focusing on "silver age Seven Soldiers characters" for DC Universe Legacies #2.

I think you should get this book, its going to be very interesting,
    (I hope)
I thought that this book was going to tell how DCs superheroes sprang up following on from the 'First Wave' which is also coming out at roughly the same time, well just a few months prior.
Im hoping that DC will do just a good enough job, what Marvel did for their Marvels series

Yeah, I'm really interested in this. I know Wein's recent writings are not exactly universally praised (see Final Crisis: Secret Files) but if anyone knows these characters it's him. I really want to get a hold of his Justice League issues...

Realistically though, I think it's virtually impossible for this project to measure up favorably to the Marvels Project, yeah i know, apples and oranges....

Having said that, bring on the Kuberts!!

I'm hoping for the best since I know that Len Wein is a pretty good writer. Though, I'm preparing for the worst since I've heard his recent work hasn't been well received.

Still, I know that the art for this series is going to be excellent.

It's an in-continuity telling of the history of the DCU, post "Infinite Crisis". Taking all of the known and established pieces of history and putting it in order. Showing how one generation begat the next.

Speaking as a longtime fan of Marvel comics, DCUL is exactly been wanting from DC for several months now. Thanks for the perfect timing DC.

I think this series is going to be awesome. I hope that it ties up up any continuity issues people have and be a good jumping on point for future readers.

This. Strictly speaking, and "roughly", a generation is like ... every ten years.

So the current generation is Tim Drake (and younger) ... the previous Dick Grayson and the original Teen Titans ... the one before that Batman and all the JLA guys. The one before that is definitely a transition period (yeah, Superman and Batman fit into this period - but they've been jarred out of it by various Crises ... but definitely some New Frontier kind of stuff was going on prior to Superman and Batman showing up on the scene and kicking off the new age of heroes), and before that is the original JSA and WWII era types.

I just read this and i thought it was pretty good. It tells the story through the perspective of an everyman, just like Marvels or Kingdom Come. I'll def pick up the next issue. The back-up feature I though was pretty weak but the main story was good. It's too bad they didn't explain exactly why the JSA emerged.

WHat did y'all think of it?

I thought it was great. The art was amazing, I love Kollin's new style and the Kubert's were fantastic as usual. Story was good, I have a feeling it'll get even better in the coming issues.
