Anti-Heroines don't kill innocent people in cold blood. That's the difference. That policeman wasn't a dirty cop, he just showed up in the wrong place at the wrong time and Amora disintegrated him for it. Now, to be fair we haven't really seen Amora do anything like this more recently (though it's questionable how complicit she was in oppressing humanity during The Reigning), but the fact remains that Amora's past sins do cross the line into "evil" territory by most standards.

I guess you're right about that. Really, Amora isn't an assassin (I think it could be the first time that she killed someone), perhaps Amora killed that policeman for Thor could avoid problems in this respect, in short, to hide what was happening at that time to avoid future problems.

She was an accomplice in the Reigning, but simply she supported Thor because she was his wife at that time, and from that relationship was born Magni.

Anyway, when is talking about Amoraīs past, anyone can speak from her battles with the Avengers, the Defenders, Hulk, her alliances with Loki, but very little of what lies behind all this, or look beyond her childhood, adolescence, those circumstances that transforms a young female asgardian on The Enchantress.

Yer be right, her past (oh well, her as a whole :/) is poorly explored and would be quite interesting to see on panel. And she has become a character with such pashion that exploring her motivations and reasons (her mind as a whole) is defintely a better approach than pure action. And about her evil deeds in the past, Ares did much worst (just less on panel) still he got developed into an interesting anti-hero in the view of a good number of readers. It wouldn't be the hardest making her some sort of an anti-heroine or gray character who doesn't mind killing for what she judges the greater good (and as we know good and evil are personal and social concepts, it varies depending who you're asking).

Talking about Ares, I would say his transformation and spotlight started with Oeming's mini. Right now I think her status is very good for one.

what is the current fate of Amora, was she revived along with the other Asgardians?

...who could play her in a movie?

Did she ever meet up with DC's Enchantress in any of the Amalgam books? Or JLA/Avengers?

Yes, she is resurrected but seems to not be living in Asgard.

And I have no idea who could play her, if she is going to appear.

True, this would be one of the things I always try to speak and for that usually Iīm complain, but it seems the writers donīt care about her and explain in a story, even something on a Thor issue or a miniseries that could focus specifically on her and so many times, when you read a story in which she appears, the writers use the excuse that she is far from Asgard or even on Asgard to show her in a disrespectful way, being defeated of the most absurd way by weakest characters than her, Morgana Lefay is shown with more respect than her. What you say about Ares is absolutely true.

Unfortunately, this has never happened, but it would be good to see if they were to do something similar someday and better.

After some thought, I decided to make an introduction for those who don't know who is the Enchantress, updated first post of the thread.

After the disappointment with JMS (only in the sense to The Enchantress donīt appear on his whole run on Thor, the rest is very good and a great read ).

Knowing that Amora The Enchantress will be back in Avengers Prime, something that has been already discussed and that the only thing I have to do is to wait for it, in doubt of what Bendis will do or not (I have it very clear and I have to be grateful for the fact that he will make that she returns, but that doesn't mean that I have doubts and bad feelings though I have hope for it).

Basically the question is: Do you believe or think that Amora will appear on Matt Fractionīs Thor?

Have any of you seen the Marvel Secret Wars action figures? The ones that come two per package. I've been waiting and hoping to find the Thor package and I finally did this afternoon. I was very excited to see that he came with Enchantress. All in all it was a good day.

Matt Fraction may be your best hope. He wrote the "God-Sized" Thor special that was our first real story with the resurrected Amora and featured her in a very prominent, in-character, and powerful role (she almost destroyed all of reality, for crying out loud). He also gave her a pretty prominent (if not entirely traditional, but that's OK because it was taking place in previous Ragnarok cycles) role in the Ages of Thunder series.

So yeah, I think there's about an 80% chance she'll show up in Fraction's Thor. He seems to have an affinity for the character.

As for the Amora action figure, a good number of pics can be found at this link.
