Hey, are her powers vocal based like Zatanna? Or can she do spells using just her hands and such.

Yeah, Amora is a very nice and great name. Well, As an Avenger, if the writer writes correctly and not use her like Emma, she would be a great Avenger or maybe one of their best allies.
The Story of The Young Enchantress is a little complex and I would say, without an ending. Her story is that She is Sylvie Lushton, a young girl from Broxton, Oklahoma that one day, Loki in one of his mischiefs, transformed her in a young version of his former ally, from one day to another. Sylvie with her new powers, becomes and called herself The Enchantress without realize anything and goes to New York and joined the Young Masters with the idea to become a young avenger someday.
It's not "just" the sex, it's the fact she made a pact with Doom, one that he DIDN'T honour! It's more about "respect" than sex (the same way Hela's pact with Dani is more about "we had a deal" rather than "what I need"). If that makes sense?
Well her first death was against the Sentry... who, ya know, ripped Ares in two. I hardly feel that "makes her look weak" that he managed to kill her. Personally I think she had a GREAT showing against the Dark Avengers. She took out Ares, Sentry and Doom; and stood her ground against Gargan, Karla, Lester, Noh-var, Osborn and Daken! That's an achievement I can't think of many other people accomplishing on their own. Both Karla and Lester got the slip on her, which is the only reason they managed to kill her. Then again, neither Lester or Karla are "embarrassing" people to be defeated by. Bullseye is a first class assassin (who's beaten Elektra in a fight to the death), and Karla can go one-on-one against the likes of Rogue and Carol. She's hardly a push-over.
I would think Amora fans would love to see the Enchantress prove half as dangerous and effective as Morgan le Fay was under Bendis' pen.

"I don't know how to please you Lord, but I think the fact I try to please you, pleases you."
Surely after ALL THIS TIME of wanting her back, it's a little "ungrateful" to suddenly start throwing doubt on who's writing her?I don't mean this in a mean way, but come on! You got your wish! Surely you should ONLY be positive about this until the issue comes out, at least? I would think that would show more "gratitude" than listing "doubts". No?
P.S. I'm please you got your wish, by the way! I look forward to learning more about the issue and Amora's role.
"I don't know how to please you Lord, but I think the fact I try to please you, pleases you."
That is true, but many people speak always of negative things about what Bendis does, will do and what he has done, making me to start to have doubts.
I've read a lot of things of Bendis that I liked, some things are good, others obviously isnīt good but I would give him the benefit of the doubt. Really I would feel bad if after reading this miniseries, at last, I find something very unpleasant after so long time talking about when will be back the Enchantress, on what way, if Marvel would be able to respect what is the character and add more things that make her better...
Also I want it like if was gold. Iīll pray for it.![]()
Don't let Bendis haters influence you! They are a small, very loud (often obnoxious) minority. Bendis wouldn't have the top two selling Marvel comics (New Avengers and Dark Avengers) if "the majority" of people hated his work. It just wouldn't happen. I'm not a Bendis "fan" (i.e. his name on a comic is NOT enough for me to try a comic, ergo I won't be picking up Avengers or New Avengers in the "Heroic Age"... unless Songbird is added); but I do like his work. And I've yet to see these "awful" thing that he supposedly does to characters people love. I love Karla the way you love Amora, and I was very happy how she fared in Dark Avengers.
Isn't there that saying - There are only two tragedies in life: one is not getting what you want... the other is getting it.![]()
"I don't know how to please you Lord, but I think the fact I try to please you, pleases you."
Youīre right, I really hope to see something good and so, as I said before, I'll give Bendis the benefit of the doubt, I want to be positive and not think that I can find something bad, I just hope, he is aware and respects the Enchantress and not treated her as a sixth category character.
P.S. I do not know if you saw what I put on page 2, which would be an evolution of how The Enchantress costume has changed over the years, well, really it hasn't changed much, but I guess that's good, because it is easier identify her without confusion.
The longevity of Amora's look is definitely one of her strengths, from an artistic standpoint. She's a well-known enough character that she's immediately recognizable (at least to Marvel aficionados) in her traditional costume (or something close to it).
I do hope that her past characterization is taken into account in future appearances, but one of the key points about Amora's character is that she can be fickle. She might be almost-heroic (or anti-heroic) one day, and go back to nearly full-on villain mode the next (especially if something happens that makes her feel like her "helpful" efforts aren't appreciated). She can be VERY cruel and malicious in the pursuit of getting things she wants and shouldn't lose that aspect of her character. She might not be the most evil of evil beings, but she's far from a good person or a "poor misunderstood soul."
Oh let me try that too! "Don't let Bendis lovers influence you! They're are blind cause they only see the sales number and assume that all people there love Bendis, they're unable to spot the sheer number of collectors that buy whatever with their preferred labels because be it good, bad, or just acceptable, it is part of the collection anyway."
Now, seriously, if yer wanna debate about Bendis, do it on another of the numerous threads in this forum with that objective. I already stated that I do not want to talk about it in this thread, it is not the place, why did you not respect my wish? Nvm, it is a rhetoric question.
[/sarcasm]
Totally agree with you, her costume is really what most identifies her, especially her stockings, pants or boots, depends on the writer, is one thing or another, something that is very confusing, but absolutely always, all those who have read stories where she has appeared, has always been her greatest feature.
Amora is not evil, at least from the Walter Simonsonīs run, but Claremont had to ignore it when he made his history of the New Mutants in Asgard.
She's a great character, one of the best Marvel Characters and I really hope that someone from Marvel realizes of her enormous potential and they act on consequence.
Perhaps it is true, that she is selfish, who only thinks on herself, trying to take advantage of any situation, whether acting as a good person or a bad person, but really to me is very surprising that having lost important people in her life like Skurge the Executioner, her eternal partner, and Lorelei, her younger sister (although she is alive, but at Marvel have forgotten her ), no one at Marvel, in all subsequent stories in which she has appeared, they has been used it to developing more her personality.![]()
Personally I prefer to ignore it, the less said about that, the better. The thread is not going to be like that.
The Bendis theme will be discussed at the time when appears that issue and is read at that time, to be able to say anything related to the treatment that he has given to the Enchantress, and if something good or bad.
