While he isn't my first choice by a long shot I think it could have been way worse. I'll get used to the idea of Evans as Cap, and I hope he nails it.

Also I think its awesome to have a Boston native play Cap. Cap might have Brooklyn roots, but New England has the Patriots

I think this is a solid choice ~ i've seen a few folks mention he was quite good in 'Sunshine' (i haven't seen it...)

From what I've seen of him in the FF movies, he has charisma and he can actually act. And the ladies love him.

Push is kind of meh, but it wasn't his fault. He's a perfectly cromulent actor. Now hit the gym!

Burns my ass that he's doubling up in Marvel... But I know him personally and he's got the chops so I will be a conflicted supporter.

Marvel's got a history of it. Rebecca Romijn, Ben Foster, Stan Lee...

Plus, FF is not "Marvel" as much as it is Fox. And they are rebooting FF anyway, so he wouldn't be Torch anymore. Besides, Evans is in Losers and Scott Pilgrim. So, he just loves comic based movies.

And I think Evans can pull it off. He's a good actor and should fit in with the other actors in Cap and in Avengers.

And Push, which was, if not a comic movie, basically a superhero one. And really, it wasn't that bad, just wasn't that great. Too much exposition needed to get where they wanted to go.

He's a good choice. A lot of the talk when the rumors were swirling with the young CW network type actors was that they would have a hard time carrying their weight with Samuel Jackson and RDJr etc. in the Avengers movie. They wanted someone who could go toe to toe in with those heavyweights. Now I am not saying Chris is in that class but he will certainly hold his own and not be blown away like some of the actors would have been. He can act and he can do physical stuff too- see Push where he did a lot of his own stunt work.

Now let's see some production designs. We are all dying to see the costume!

Still a Marvel character, the last bit I can try and give credit to
neither of those is a hero role though. I'm good with multiple comic character roles just multiple Major heroes in the same universe is annoying...

and he can hold his own with those guys \/ \/
