hmmm... they are really hurting over BN at Marvel, arent they. The first question was a thoughtful one: what will Marvel – and the comic industry – be like twenty years from now?
Fraction jumped in, "More Hulks."
Brubaker responded, "Less rings."
LOL! Marvel is TREMENDOUSLY late into this.Fraction asked the audience how many had iPhones or planned to buy them in the next ten years; many raised their hands. He exclaimed, "See? There’s a newsstand in your pants and everyone’s invited!"
Quesada added to this analogy and said that with the new technologies and options in front of comic readers "we’re like the porn industry. Breaking new ground. We’re at the forefront of a new era."
I cant believe they are making this claim.
What planet is this you are living on?People vote with their dollars and feet, and that’s how we decide."

I'll miss you, Spider-Woman...
In other news, "hiatus" has been confirmed to be Marvel's new replacement word for "canceled".

This just in: Chris Sprouse has pulled out of Orson Scott Card.
I could never see myself reading a comic on... whatever those I-Phone things are. I'm old. I think Marvel needs the competition and that's what DC is doing. They're both great companies and you need atleast two big guys out there amongst the smaller companies.
Come to think of it, there ARE a lot of coffee places in Seattle.![]()
It's good that they're taking their time to get the character right and not rushing product out to the shelves. The next person to the microphone asked a query that seemed to interest many in attendance: are we going to see Marvelman soon?
Quesada smiled and responded, "We’re taking our time; we’re taking a methodical approach. Within the next 30 to 60 days though, you should start to hear his name. The news may be about old stories, new stories, or reprints, but you should hear something."
Yeah, it's not like there needs to be a rush (unless they were planning it to be Osborns enforcer or something). They might as well take their time, and maybe put out some old material first.
I'll admit I never read any MM. I've heard about him, but never read his stuff. If they really wanna milk his value, they probably will need to educate a decent percent of the public to who this guy even is, and that'll probably take time.

I'm not sure what Marvel's plan are but if they're looking to continue the series from where it left off at Eclipse then part of the problem could be Gaiman and Buckingham. Obviously Gaiman is now a busy novelist and film writer and Buckingham is pencilling Fables. So Marvel may be waiting for a window in both their schedules to continue the Silver Age story from the last series.
I'm fairly sure McFarlane lost his claim to MM in the lawsuit with Gaiman. I think it's mostly up to Alan Moore these days, and I seem to recall him saying that he won't stand in the way.
Also, they're probably waiting to kill off the Sentry.
I'll say the same thing I said after they made the "big announcement." Who the hell is Marvel Man? Why should I care? And frankly my intrest dwindles the longer they take to put it out. I bet it wont matter how people vote with their dollar or their feet when it comes to Joe Q's little pet project.
How about some info on something we care about Joe like whats is the heroic age or whats happening to the X-men in july?
Did anybody else notice that CBR switched the headline/lead article whatever you wanna call it from Image's panel to the Cup o' Joe panel? Way to show no bias CBR.
