Default Will anything from Gail's Run Remain?

In the grand tradition of completely undoing and ignoring everything that went before, will the new writer drop Achilles, the Circle, the new lightning power and everything else? Will Vanessa swoop in as the Silver Swan, with Myndi Mayer as the mastermind who has always manipulated her, as Donna comes to WW's aid without her new lasso?

I think it depends on who the next writer is, and which direction he/she wants to go with the character. Gail is certainly leaving the book in a better position than she started, so there are multiple pathways a writer can go here.

We'll have to see what happens here. I confess to some concern in this regard as well, since Gail may be leaving (again, we'll have to see how things wrap up) with some significant plot threads left dangling.

I hope that Diana keeps the lightning power. But I'm really curious to see the resolution of the Pele storyline.

More than anything, of course, I'm concerned that the incoming writer be someone who has a sense of what makes Diana special. I know the person has Gail's ringing endorsement, but I'm still nervous.

Hopefully Gail will resolve most of the plot loose ends (and there aren't a huge number of them to be honest) in her last couple of issues.

At least I hope she does because The usual form for incoming writers is to ignore most of what came before.

I'm hoping that the end of this era will also end DC's need to endlessly harp upon AA ANYWHERE in their universe. If it wasn't a good time at the beginning of Gail's run (which it was!), then it is more than time for this now.

Carol, I don't understand your post. What is "AA'"? Please explain. Thanks.

My only hope is that who ever the writer is maintains the 'voice' Gail had for Diana.

Wonder Woman has never been this strong, or determined in a long time.

If the new writer starts off with "Who am I?" I'm dropping this title.
I hope this 911 is for real and not just on tv.

If we're very very very lucky, Etta might stick around.

Aside from that, don't hold your breath.

    This right here!

We know who Diana is. I don't need to see that ever again. (Though I want a Secret Origin for her, but thats to put all her history together.)

The Biggest problem this book has had is that it isn't consistent. DC needs to let a writer have full reign of the book and leave them alone, and give them a stellar art team. Stop changing it every 2 years. Nobody is going to want to stick around if its just going to change every five seconds.

I agree! There was a lot of questioning self doubt in those first 10-13 issues that I felt suited her poorly. Characters like her and Superman are forged of conviction and driving their actions with an assured sense of righteousness and honor. The constant questioning undermines that power.

Gail has done a great job of standing her on a, diamond hard, Amazonian foundation. That should be maintained in all of her appearances, not just her main title.
"Other than that" seems to be a common theme running rampant within my work.

Let's see. I think The Circle and Gail's version of Etta have the strongest chance of sticking around. However, I also think the Thalarions might as well. I don't know about Achilles specifically (although it would be nice), but I think there is story potential in exploring the relationship(s) between the Amazons and the Thalarions.

Achilles is already settled to appear in another book, not written by me, so that should be a good thing. The Circle have been mentioned outside of my DC stuff, I think there's a good shot they will be around in some capacity.

It's a bit early to assume the next writer will not build up or acknowledge on what Gail has done. It's very pessimistic IMO.
