Well... Bendis did say that Friday's reveal would be the most surprising one.

And it pans out. Considering Ben Grimm hasn't been a member or associate of the New Avengers previously.

I'm shocked he actually didn't join up after Civil War, considering he seemed a likely member due to that.

This is awesome, more Ben Grimm for the MU is always good. My only question is will he wear different trunks when he's on the Avengers.

Also, I hope this means more Cage, Parker, Grimm, Logan poker games. That's one time I wouldn't mind reading them sitting around and talking.

Is it really that hard for a few of these guys to sew a little A on their uniform.

Logan has an X. Thing has a 4. Why can't anyone put a little A on their uniform and show a little Avengers pride?

Ah well... that aside, Thing is certainly a fun choice. Overall, this is just a fun team of guys (aside from maybe Jessica... don't get me wrong, I like the character but I think she'll be the buzz kill of the group).

He certainly adds a bit of power, which is nice for all those who think this team is a bit too street. And the dialogue should be cool, as he can hang right in there with Spidey and the rest when it comes to NA battle banter.

Still wish the team had a bit more versatility though. An energy blaster or a magic wielder or something. In MMO terms we've got a lot of scappers and tanks, but it wouldn't hurt to throw in a controller or blaster to flesh out the team a bit.

I agree with XPac, some kind of long-range threat would be a nice addition to balance out the team. Other wise, I really like this team.

Looks like they're really trying to stick to the "New Avengers" name. I suspect if anymore members are announced they will all be characters that are either brand new to the franchise, or have joined the team at some point in recent history.

Could Dr. Voodoo be next?

I think the word you're looking for is Fantastic (sorry, couldn't help myself).

Ya know, the funny thing is some people referred to this as the lesser Avengers team. But if you look at it, this book might still be the core of the MU.

It's an Avengers team with Spider-Man, an X-men, a member of the Fantastic Four, and a Thunderbolt. It's the equivalent of the United Nations of the MU. Throw in maybe a Guardian of the Galaxy and one of the Hulks and you'd have all your bases covered.
