The irony of all this for me is that George R.R. Martin started writing these books, because he was tired of writing for TV and being told "You have too many characters in the cast, you need to pare all these folks down."

Well, years later...

Looking forward to this, though. Particularly seeing Dinklage as Tyrion.

I can't say I'm overly impressed with Mark Addy as Robert Barratheon.

Even if Brian Blessed is too old for the role, there's always John Rhys-Davies.

Or Nick Frost.

Mark Addy can do drunk and jolly, but yeah I don't think he's ideal.

Emilia Clarke looks like a much better choice.
I'm also glad for Jason Momoa whom I enjoyed in "Stargate Atlantis". As for the two Cleganes, I can't wait to see them in action.

And as someone whose absolute favourite TV series is The Wire, I'm happy to see Aidan Gillen (Carcetti) as Littlefinger.

Uhm...I'm pretty certain they will. spoilers:

It's a critical plot element and it's not like the actors portraying them are related, nor that the actress playing Cersei is a stranger to nudity and/or sex scenes (see: 300).
