Well there it is:
Both "Nova" and "Guardians of the Galaxy" will both be going on hiatus in April, with all the action zooming right into "The Thanos Imperative: Ignition" in May, and then the six-issue saga in June.
Pretty clear that there's no guarantee that "hiatus" will be just a one-month thing. It sounds like at least a six-month break, with sales of the mini likely determining what happens next.
Actually, I'm fairly sure you're right. This part especially worries me:
Bill Rosemann: DnA are the masters at crafting stories that both build upon years of character development and also stand on their own - providing you all the "101" info you need to enjoy the adventure. So all you cash-strapped readers rejoice - whether you've read "Annihilation," "Conquest," "War of Kings," "Nova" and "Guardians of the Galaxy" - or whether you're just a fan who digs characters like Thanos and Surfer - you can just pick up "The Thanos Imperative" and enjoy a self-contained, satisfying, galaxy-rocking adventure."
Now, I could be wrong - and probably am - but I read that and the paragraph you posted as Guardians and the other books going on hiatus long-term, for at least the length of the Thanos mini-series (6 months). I think this is going to be one of those 'Iron Fist hiatuses'.![]()
I hope this leads into an ongoing Silver Surfer book. *crosses fingers*
This just in: Chris Sprouse has pulled out of Orson Scott Card.
Yeah, I read that as Thanos Imperative is to Nova and Guardians as Heavens on Fire was to Ghost Rider (or as Immortal Weapons was to Iron Fist).
I think if Thanos Imperative does well, we might see one or both return from "hiatus." If it doesn't, as was the case with those two previous mini-series, then . . . not so much.

Expect Nova and GotG to be cancelled and relaunched with a new #1 after the event finishes.

If DnA gets another vehicle to tell their cosmic stories after the Thanos Imperative, i'm fine with that. It doesn't necessarily have to be Nova or GotG (i'd much rather see Nova go under than GotG, though. This Sphinx arc stinks.).
Happy and Sad. Thanos is back but some of my favorite cosmic comics are going on hiatus.
Pull List:

"It's not whether you win or lose, it's whether I win or lose." - Peter David, on life
Well... the Thanos Imperative is actually sounding pretty cool, as is the Cancer-verse concept. I didn't think much of either of these at first, especialyl the idea of bringing Thanos back. He had such a fantastic death in Annihilation, and I was really worried about how DnA would bring him back after the rather lame return of Quasar. But this sounds good. It makes a lot of sense to. I like the idea of "life" being the bad guy in this.
The deal here is pretty clear though. The Thanos Imperative has to sell well if we want our favorite cosmic series to continue afterwards. Or yeah, this will end up like Immortal Iron Fist. Fortunately, this looks so much better than Immortal Weapons, which was just a disaster. It looks like Marvel has realized the mistake made with War of Kings/Realm of Kings, so that's a good sign. No assortment of tie-in titles. This is the consolidation of the cosmic franchise. No one has to pick and choose which cosmic titles to spend their money on. So in theory, it should sell much better. But that's depending on some readers coming back after being burned by Marvel asking for too much money from them. I'm going to stay hopeful on this one.
Little concerned about the artist though. I have not enjoyed the art on Thunderbolts. But I don't know if the blame on that goes to the artist or the inker and colorer.
Dang, I'm looking forward to this story but like others I hope this doesn't do away with the cosmic stories. I hope it brings more opportunities such as a Silver Surfer book or something.
I wonder if this is Marvels new formula.
I know a lot of people are worried that Black Panther might be cancelled after Doomwar.
I'll be suddenly worried if I hear news that any low selling book I like is suddenly getting an event or mini now.
