But the costume is the lesser of the problems now. Every time a new solicit of the Thunderbolts is released, I feel sad because not only Songbird, but most of the characters of the book weren't even mentioned. Then I wonder how will be their importance in the story. It will be a shame if they brought back the original T-Bolts just to be stuck in the Raft, and make small appearances in this book. Also, why she can't receive at least an one-shot, mini or even guest appearances in other books, since she has connections with Hawkeye and Black Widow, both with ongoings now.

Agreed. I never understood why posters said "I hate the new costume" since it's so similar, I can't imagine the style is what bothers them (maybe the rendering itself but not the actual design).

I too want a Songbird one-shot or mini-series. But I understand why Songbird, Abe and Fixer aren't referenced in the upcoming promos, it's not their story. They have redeemed (pretty much) and the "core" of this book is about villains trying to redeem (that just doesn't include them anymore). Plus, "old school" Thunderbolts fans are probably getting the comic regardless, so maybe promos are trying to bring in new readers, who maybe are a fan of Juggernaut or Man-Thing, who might not necessarily know they are on Thunderbolts? Maybe?

I think that this hair style can look good with some effort. I've seen some fanart who managed to do it in a nice manner. But Walker make it looks too "flat".

But... I refuse to accept this situation

I've waited for Heroic Age just to see if Songbird was going to have more importance in the MU... but all we got are the original Thunderbolts as villains or as minor characters in their own book. At least Hawkeye got his own ongoing with a very good writer.

Also I'm thinking of dropping Thunderbolts. Judging by the solicits, interviews and the first issue, the main character of this new phase will be Luke Cage, and I just don't care about him. I'll give one more chance, but so far, not impressed with this direction.

I agree with this, but I think since they are less a part of Thunderbolts, they should be working to integrate the characters with the MU outside of Thunderbolts. (Which I think should be bringing in new characters, in order to keep the theme of redemption and change ongoing.) They did a great job making Norman Osborn and his old Tbolts crew really relevant for a while in Dark Avengers, and

We saw Fixer over in Captain America last week, but obviously Mel or Abe are ill-suited now to that kind of role. I was lobbying for Songbird appearing in Black Widow over on that board. But the thing about both Clint and Natasha's books is that they are very low-powered, so Melissa would probably need to appear in her civilian identity if she was to get any focus.

I 100% agree, and part of me is still sad Songbird wasn't "bumped" into the LONG OVERDUE Avengers membership. Sadly, I think for that to work she needed to play a hand in bringing Osborn down (which is what Diggle seemed to be building to, but sadly it never happened). Maybe after this current period of guarding and encouraging the Thunderbolts, she will finally have earned her wings and can join New Avengers (it is Luke's team after all). I'd love to see Clint or Natasha bring Songbird in for an arc. Why not? She's powerful, but there are plenty of "hand-to-hand" foes who could logically fight both Songbird and Natasha... such as Mister X (rematch, anybody?). Or I'd love to see Songbird go to Wakanda and aid T'Challa fighting Klaw!!!

AHHH!!! Songbird not being an Avenger is (right now) the most offensive oversight on the part of the editors and writers of the Avengers. She's a great leader, a great fighter, and she learned to be a hero the hard way (it wasn't offered to her on a golden platter, she had to realise it was who she was, deep inside). One day, mate. One day we will FINALLY get our reward, and Songbird will be leading the damn Avengers!!! You hear that, Steve Rogers! Move aside. Your better has arrived!!!

Woah, woah, woah. Steady on. Let's not do anything we'll regret. I think at-least hold out for the first arc (it's only three issues long, and we've already had one). I hate to lose any Thunderbolts fans.

I have to say, I was discouraged at first how Parker was going to handle her, but I am reassured after reading today's issue. She was treated just like the other members, and it made me happy.
Also, the new look CAN look good!

I give my full support to these ideas. There's no excuse to not give the original Thunderbolts members guest appearances in other books.

Also, I think they can use unused Thunderbolts foes if Melissa appear in "low-powered" titles as a costumed hero. I'd love to see Songbird and Hawkeye joining forces to battle Cyclone.

I'm still waiting for this day. Maybe after Shadowland a new slot will be open in an Avengers team.

Well, I'm not a completist. When the direction or content of the book doesn't interests me, I skip it for some issues.

But I liked this last issue way more than the previous, mostly because it was less "Cage-heavy" and gave more spotlight for the other characters. Also, Mel looks prettier in most of the panels. Maybe our complaining was heard by Marvel.

    This drawing is awesome.

The design isn't bad, but Walker isn't the best artist to draw women. His Moonstone isn't beautiful too. However, he draws incredible monsters and creatures.

I hope that the new Bettle who appeared in Captain America lasts more than her predecessors, so she can interact with Songbird.

I think the Beetle is that bartender Bucky and Natasha were searching. But would be cool if she is related to one of the previous users of the armor.

Yeah. I'm hoping we get some tie-ins to the legacy, but it isn't Songbird, it's definitely the bartender, hence the "it's my first day" line.

After reading the last issues and the solictis, I was wondering why they brought Songbird, MACH-V and Fixer back to the Thunderbolts just to be supporting characters? She deserve more than appearing five panels per issue.
