Songbird is a fantastic character and it's a travesty that Thunderbolts is being retooled again.

Only by Tbolts books one Songbird is in it. She is the most interesting character I think Marvel has created in a while. Whatever book she lands in (hopefully one of the Avengers) I am buying. I would love for her to get her own mini to try out if she could get her own ongoing.
Well, she appeared in Super Hero Squad Show too, but as an undercover agent of SHIELD.
If SHIELD returns in Heroic Age, they can use this idea to distance her of TBolts.
And they said the original Thunderbolts would battle with Norman's Thunderbolts too. I will never trust a Marvel interview or solicity again.
I would love to see Gambit, or better, Rogue interacting with Songbird.
I agree. I miss the time the teams didn't completely change after an event.
I hope for an Songbird ongoing or miniseries one day, but I prefer she get in an Avenger team first, to give the character more relevance in the MU.
But she already got some supporting characters, like Abner, Norbert, Josten, Riordan, and a surprisingly large amount of possible rogues for a character who never had a solo book, like Crimson Cowl, the french Cyclone, the Grappelers now Letha and Lascivious are alive again, a weakened and unconfident Graviton, an owner of the Beetle armors, or she can borrow some related enemies from other heroes, like Bullseye, Klaw, MacGargan, Osborn, Shocker and Speed Demon.
Songbird is a great character and all, and Avengers: Forever was a great story but Songbird shouldnt be an Avenger. She's a Thunderbolt at best. She doesn't really belong with Cap, Iron Man, Thor, and Spidey.
But that's one of the things I think would make her great. Her self doubt and trying to prove she does belong with them. It reminds me of the Cap, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver Avengers. It just feels like it is the next step for her and opens up all kinds of story possibilities.
Agreed totally. The Avengers aren't always comprised of legends, there are spaces on the team for new blood, too, and reformed villains have joined the team on several occasions. There's a lot of possibility for character work with Melissa on the Avengers that isn't there with more established members, simply because they're more established.
they need a new Screaming Mimi. i would have chosen '11' from the Redeemers team. but i guess she was eaten. she also had a sonic scream.

or Eric O'Grady could do a turn as the Irredeemable Beetle. his ant-man armor isn't that much different from Abe's second armor (not the one w/ the long suction fingers).

Considering how many current "Avengers" happily kill or want to kill (*cough* Clint Barton), I think having an honest to god hero with honest to god morals like Songbird might be a good idea. Songbird, who lead the New Thunderbolts to a victory over the New Avengers (lead by Steve Rogers). Songbird who didn't lose her cool like Clint during Dark Reign, and not only toughed it out under Osborn, but she worked the system, saving lives, and doing good.
She's the best hero around right now! I can't think of anyone more deserving of Avenger membership than Songbird, who has proven, PROVEN what it means to be a hero especially when the going gets tough.
"I don't know how to please you Lord, but I think the fact I try to please you, pleases you."
Yes, she is like a "spiritual sucessor" to Hawkeye, inherited both the redemption and the leading prowess from him, but still is her own character. She even given up the chance to get off the team in Ellis run, trading with the right to lead the Thunderbolts to rescuing missions.
Too bad, would be an interesting character to interact with Songbird.
Maybe he can team up with the other three and create a team called "The Beetles"or Eric O'Grady could do a turn as the Irredeemable Beetle. his ant-man armor isn't that much different from Abe's second armor (not the one w/ the long suction fingers).

Finally we got the first glimpse of Songbird post-Siege.

I personally liked the design, expect for the hair, and the stripped gloves.
But this is the thing who bothers me:
At least Walker, not Parker said that, because I'd hate to see Melissa evil again."I just had the feeling that [Songbird] was more menacing, more brooding. I read the TPB where she had the big run in with Bullseye, and they seemed pretty evenly matched. That struck a chord, as if she's the female version Bullseye. Moonstone might stab you in the back, but Songbird would twist the blade. The haircut reflects that. Perhaps she's in some kind of character shift, heading towards some kind of break down? I don't know. But I wanted her to look as if she inhabited a darker space than she used to."
