Who's necessary for a Justice League movie?

There was a rumor that Nolan would be working on a JL movie in the future based on new Batman, Superman, Flash, and GL movies coming up (I know it's not true). Of course, this is just some people getting ahead of themselves. But it does make me think. Who's really important to having a Justice League movie?
IMO, we'd need Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Green Lantern. I know some people would prefer to have all the big 7, and they could still be in it, but Aquaman and Martian Manhunter would have to debut in the actual movie, since I don't see them having successful solo movies. The rest could work though.
What do you guys think?

All you NEED for the movie is the Trinity and any two people and you've got a League that would be successful. Obviously Flash and GL are easy picks for those two, but you could put Vixen and Metamorpho and still call it the League and have the movie rise or fall on its own merits, the requisites for calling it the JLA met.

As for who SHOULD be in it? The original seven. You could probably take out Martian Manhunter and Aquaman, but they really should be in it. If they have a big enough story to justify a bigger roster(under which circumstances they should really take after Marvel's Avengers Movie Initiative and launch a bunch of them in their own movies first), I think having Green Arrow, Hawkman, and The Atom on the team would be great, especially if circumstances prohibited one of the Big 7 from being on and they needed a replacement.

I don't know. I honestly would rather it not be an Origin story though. That way fans won't complain about not having the Original Seven (MOst of Whom I don't care that much for).

Agreed, the Bigger 5 of the Big 7 is all that's necessary, I think once GL and Flash come out, WW can be introduced in the JLA movie. Or, she can get her own movie, and MM could be introduced in the JLA movie. But then you have the Bigger 5 +1, and it just seems odd to exclude Aquaman. Then again, most of the general audience really does not care who the Big 7 are...

I say you include the Big 5 then introduce one of the others in the movie. I think introducing either Martian Manhunter and Aquaman in the movie and tying their emergence in with the main threat of the "JL" movie would be the best way to go. Say like Martian Manhunter seeks out the JL out to warn them about the impending doom of the White Martians attacking Earth or something of the sort. Then you can also learn some of his back story along the way.

The big 5, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern. Martian Manhunter can be introduced in the movie, have it deal heavily with the plot.
Sad to say, but Aquaman isn't necessary, and let's be honest, to most of the populace Aquaman's seen as pretty useless. He's just the funny guy who talks to fish. See Super Friends or a few references to Family Guy for the general gist.

The Big 3 of course. After the Reynolds GL movie him as well. Flash would be a good addition. After them maybe the Atom and Firestorm for power diversity.

MM would be a little redundant in the movie, he's too similar to Supes. Alien form another planet with pretty much the same powers. Yes he can shape-shift, go phantom and read minds but the movie would need to focus on those powers to set him apart from Supes.

To introduce an alien threat to the movie there can be an alert sent to GL from the Guardians warning him or bring in someone new like Adam Strange returning to Earth with the warning or Katar Hol Hawkman arriving before some alien armada to warn the heroes.

I don't think Aquaman's inclusion would be a positive factor honestly, he is a laughing stock in pop culture really...

No, no. The following names are all the characters that are needed: Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Fire and Ice. Everyone else is superfluous.

Some would argue for Guy Gardner too, but I think it would be a much more tolerable movie without him.
