Incredible work by Rag Morales. As I said elsewhere, I was already looking forward to this title, now even moreso.

Batman. Doc Savage. The Spirit.
Together.
REALLY?!
If I see another ad for this series I think I am gonna vomit. It was included in about every single DC comic released in the past few weeks. There is such a thing as overkill.
Anyway, the last time I read Azzarello he was writing the single worst rendition of Superman I have ever witnessed. For Tomorrow. I never thought anyone could make Superman stories that incomprehensible and universally uninteresting.
And, this is supposed to usher in a new, separate DC universe? What is it the Noir Universe? So given the chance to start a new universe you grab all the old, boring powerless characters and put them together and place Batman in the background, apparently in an effort to make the series profitable. Everything about this series, apart from Rags, bores me, not only that, but I feel it has wasted my time, forcing me to look at it at the end of every DC comic I purchase.
I am just waiting for this mini to be over so Rags can move onto something I might actually want to read in the future.

Looking forward to this book.
Great preview pages.
On that cover, does Batman have a gun?
Look out! It's my DeviantART page!
Can not wait!
And yes Bats carries a gun or two in the First Wave world, much like in Bob Kane's (and friends) original take on the vigilante. Shocking news, I know.

Yes, he's wearing a shoulder holster.
I for one am really looking forward to this series! I love all the old pulp heros, the mid-century setting, all of it. Plus, Azz writing gives me confidence this will be done the right way if he can infuse the book with the same intellegence as 100 Bullets or his run on Hellblazer.
Very intriguing. I too am very excited for this. Perfect team for the title really.
I guess you need projects like this to attract writers/artists who are famous. It's a shame that DC has many great characters being misstreated, written badly or just ignored and they put out a comic like this. Top notch quatlity and it's in a world I couldn't care less about.
When I am a famous writer I will try to find some old character and write about that one, cause god forbid I'll write on a modern one who badly needs some love.
I've been waiting for this mini and ongoings for some time now, since it was announced in San Diego! From Azzarello writing the initial mini to Malmount and Schultz writing Doc Savage & the Spirit, DC's finally got something I've been wanting for a long time now... a return to pulps!

I have to agree with the other poster that, yes, this thing is seriously overhyped - and the character designs were all laughably limp (the indian black canary - rotflol).
But then again, i'm not a big Azzarello fan so i'm not totally unbiased here..
