The casting for Joe Johnston's upcoming Marvel Studios picture "The First Avenger: Captain America" is officially under way with young actors from John Krasinski to Chace Crawford vying to portray Steve Rogers, and CBR has a photo rundown.

I'm a big fan of "The Office", even though I think it's gone down hill in quality the past two seasons. And I don't want to be one of those bitchy fanboys, but seriously John Krasinski as Captain America? No, just a big fat no from me on that. I don't mean to typecast the guy and I'm all for actors trying to branch out and try different roles but I can't see putting the franchise on this guy's shoulders. In "Away We Go" he couldn't even turn in a different performance from what he does on "The Office". He was basically playing Jim with a beard in that film.

"Captain America" might be a tough sell already and putting "Jim from The Office" in the lead role is not going to help in trying to get people to take the movie seriously. Also I can't imagine him trying to be the leader of everyone else in the "Avengers" movie. Here's hoping they go with someone that is more suited for the role instead of just shock casting.

Honestly Maybe its just he fact that he got the Coipel art but i would pick Mike Vogel first. Then for some reason maybe its the Tim Burton fan in me but The dude from the Office would be my #2

Yeah, I mean I love Jim Halpert, just don't see him as Captain America...it'll be interesting if he's cast though. There isn't a name on this list I'm displeased with though, cept maybe Crawford...

Yean, I agree. As big of a fan of Jim Halpert that I am. He just would not work as Captain America. He would have to gain 40lbs of muscle and get a nose job.

So Supernatural could get in the way of Jenson Ackles playing Cap. I'll say good. Just give him a 2 min cameo at the end of the film as Clint Barton and I'm happy.
