I always just figured that Free was a werewolf.

A werewolf that looks like a giant squirrel, but a werewolf nontheless.

he states pretty outright that wolfman mode is his real form and the human thing is just a disguise.

    ....if i remember right.....

Why he keeps picking up ridiculous arguments and then try to defend them, I will never know.

Free is definitely a werewolf. But I think he was referring to this guy.

You know, the weapon that turns into a chainsaw and is currently working for Noah.

    Ah... whoops.

My bad. I saw the word werewolf and immidiately read Free instead of Giriko.

Oh well. I don't think that he's a werewolf. But he did have some pretty awesome fights with Justin.

Speaking of fights. Who do you guys think are the top fighters in the series?

Got around to watching the first episode- the movie trailer style next episode preview was hilarious, and I like how they gave Black Star a female voice actress [watched dub version]. He looks like he'll be a fun skewering of Naruto.

Maka is a total badass, and Laura Bailey's voice is almost unrecognizable.... it's a very gravily kids voice, and her interaction/bickering with Soul made for awesome bits. She's the best shonen hero I've seen in ages, and it's nice to see a female character be the one in charge fo the action. The Witch/Cat's voice was also pretty good, and Bones animation was extremely smooth. I also think Shinigami is now my favorite anime school principal, parodying that a bit with his goofy personality while still being somewhat threatenging.

The bits about Maka's parents divorce added a realistic bit to a very surreal fantasy series, so I'm looking forward to chekcing out the rest of the set.

The dub is pretty good, although a lot of the voices take some getting used to. The only voice I haven't gotten too used to yet is Shinigami's.

Agreed Maka is awesome, and just wait till you meet Kid, the guy is hilarious.

I read some of Soul Eater in Yen Plus [have to say I like the anime's artstyle a bit better], so I know he's pretty keen, and the guns/cowgirl twins should be interesting to see animated.

    That episode is a classic.

Imagine how many points it would have been worth if she hadn't broken its neck?

    Re: Episode 1 . . .

I find it odd that Soul was willing to leave Maka for Blair, only to change his mind a minute or so later.
Show me a bitter nazi and I'll show you a sour kraut.

It was a trick to lure Blair into a vulnerable position where they could strike her down.
