My biggest hope is that Geoff can create a few new Aquaman enemies that rival Ocean Master and Black Manta cause every arc cannot involve either of them. I liked the first arc Geoff did and I hope as Aquaman's universe is expanded people remain on board. Also I hope the Others sick around and not just disappear into the ether after one arc.

At Chicago Comic-Con, they mentioned that the art team signed up to Aquaman first, and when Johns heard about it, he suddenly became interested and wanted to write it. DC were like "Really? Aquaman? Are you sure? Are you sure you're sure?" but he was adamant they could make a go of it.

I don't want him to be limited to just a city, or have him choose between the surface and the sea. Instead, due to his dual human/atlantean heritage, the enitre planet should be Aquaman's arena since he has so much invested in both.

Love this...hilarious. I had never read Aquaman until Johns started writing him, and now its one of my favourite books, Ivan Reis art is stunning, again, its in my top 5 books

I agree Ivan Reis is amazing. Aquaman is one of those characters that only looks cool when certain artist draw him. Most of the time in the past he has looked awful.

What I find fascinating is contemplating what the future now looks like for Aquaman as a franchise. The commitment Johns & Reis have made to the character is, pardon the pun, a sea change. Aquaman is far and away one of the most recognizable and most famous comic book superheroes of the past century. Everyone knows Aquaman. They know who he is, what he looks like and what his powers are.

With the Johns/Reis run and Top Ten sales month after month, the game is upped. What other artists will step up to take over for Ivan Reis when he leaves? Geoff and Ivan have turned Aquaman into a first class property and a prestigious spotlight for writers and artists. Now working on Aquaman is something to crow about and brag to others as a stellar gig that helps you build a name for yourself. Who will be the future superstar artists in comics who make a name for themselves by working on Aquaman?

Geoff and Ivan are only 8 months into their mammoth world-building project on Aquaman. The Others are a big hit with fans. So, the obvious question is...where do we go from here? What will be Doctor Stephen Shin's inevitable super-villain identity? What other new villains are Johns & Reis going to give us? Then there's the upcoming revamp of Ocean Master. I mean, Jesus Christ, Ocean Master as reimagined by Geoff Johns and redesigned by Ivan Reis? Holy Mother of God, that's going to be incredible!

If sales stay high, will there be any spinoff books? What will happen to Aqualad and Aquagirl? Come on, we all *know* they're coming back!

And last but absolutely not least: the inevitable DCU-wide Aquaman mega crossover. Otherwise known as my favorite topic. First came Sinestro Corps War and Blackest Night. Then came Flashpoint. Good grief, but my mind boggles at simply trying to imagine what kind of event Geoff is percolating in his head for Aquaman. That's not even including all the comix news website coverage the eventual Aquaman crossover will get: stories on AintItCoolNews, Bleeding Cool, CBR, Newsarama, IGN, et cetera.

The bottom line is, we have only seen the tip of the iceberg as far the Johns/Reis run of Aquaman is concerned. Given everything Geoff's done with the Green Lantern franchise over the past 8 years, I can't stop grinning when I ponder on what is coming for Aquaman in the years ahead. It's going to be bigger than anyone ever expected Aquaman to be.

I've been hoping for years that Johns would write Aquaman. I knew great things would happen.

Same here. I am very much looking forward to Trinity War, but the wait for a DCU-wide Aquaman mega crossover like Blackest Night is simply killing me. I want it and I want it now, dammit, LOL!

Geoff is definitely the guy that can give Aquaman a great cast of villains. I loved his characterization of the Flashes rogues. He is great at wring villains.

Are there any supporting characters that you guys hope Johns will bring back in?

Also, I just saw the trailer for "Man Of Steel". *yawn* They should have had Snyder do an Aquaman movie instead. -__-

Is the current Aqualad and Aquagirl still around in the current DCnU ? After the big push Kaldur got in Brightest Day, and being a regular on Young Justice, you'd think he'd be showing up a little more. Also the Sea Devils who were a part of the old Peter David Aquaman series, which seems to have been unfortunatly scoured from the world in the wake of Flashpoint.

Johns doesn't want to use Aqualad and Aquagirl yet but has mentioned previous continuity is somewhat intact.

I feel he's setting up Aquaman's rogues(Manta, Master, Scavenger, etc.) first then will start bringing the rest of the family in future arcs. I think we won't see them until next summer the earliest if they don't show up in the next arc: "Who Sunk Atlantis?" which should be after "The Others".

Really? I heard that they wanted to use Jackson-Aqualad in Teen Titans but couldn't because Johns had plans for him.

And he must. Considering Aquaman and Black Manta now have an established blood feud over the course of three generations, Jackson's bound to show up at some point.

    I hope not...

    After Ocean Master

I'm hoping the next Aquaman arc gives us Fisherman, Scavenger, and maybe a Apokolips arc focusing on the Deep Six(possibly team up with GL).

Best part of Johns on Aquaman is that he always treated Aquaman with great respect, and that shows over the years.

In Infinite Crisis he had a few pages (mostly issue 3) where he was shown as a one man army defending Sub Diego.

In Justice League, Crisis of Consciense he had a great showing against Despero (far better than what MM did)

And then of course we have the major Aqua bad ass moments in Blackest Night, Brightest Day and of course in Flashpoint (where he was on the verge of beating Wonder Woman on the surface of New Themiscyra one-on-one, before Captain Thunder interupted the fight)

That can only fill me with hope for the future and the inevitable Aqua-event.
And can't wait to see more villains (heavy hitters), mainly Ocean Master, King Shark (HOPEFULLY), Charybdis (hopefully), Thanatos (hopefully), Deep Six (HOPEFULLY), Kordax (hopefully), The Thirst (HOPEFULLY) and of course Poseidon and Triton vs Aquaman for the epic god-fight.

As for supporting cast Atlan gets my first vote, followed by Tempest.
