I wanna read those two books ! They sound great !
The First Wave titles sound so cool.
DC hasn't said anything, but I'm sure if this line is successful, we'll be seeing The Shadow too, which would be perfect !
I don't know that much about Doc but I'm looking forward to learning more. Years ago I read a fanzine, Duende, about Lester Dent and his real life exploits. Very Doc Savage-ish.
Hondo, if you haven't pick up Malmont's novel The Chinatown Death Cloud Peril, check it out. It's very good!
I'm with you on this...this is one thing I hope DC promotes to get more readers in. I'd love to see more of the pulp heroes come back to DC, like The Shadow or even the Phantom..hell, even Flash Gordon; remember that cool underrated Dan Jurgens mini?
"If you live among wolves you have to act like a wolf."
I couldn't be happier that they chose Paul Malmont for Doc Savage. He's perfect for the book. He proved that with Chinatown Death Cloud Peril.
I think I might give this a look-see.
Locke & Key, Saga, Thief of Thieves
I'm seriously getting it.
Yes, The Phantom or even Flash Gordon.
Both Walter Gibson and Lester's lives were pretty incredible in themselves. In fact, Gibson held the world's record for typing 1,400,000 words in 10 months. Manual typewriter, not even electric.
I'd forgotten about that mini but distinctly remember being very impressed with Mark Verheiden.
Dent was landscaping his front yard and came across a huge rock. He reached his arms around it and lifted it from the yard himself in a very Doc-like move with massive chest and arms.

Howard Porters' art could be the factor that screws up this series. I want to see the Doc in modern day DC, intereacting with DC heroes, if that doesn't happen more so in the series, it will be dead in the water within a year.

oh and a pic of ben affleck playing a blind matt is enough to make me not take you seriously.....
How many Doc Savage titles are coming out and are any of them going to be part of continuity and the greater DCU or is it just part of its own universe?
