There's some great art in these preview pages as well, and Dixon has been writing comics for a very long time. Even though I haven't read any of the books, I have a feeling this'll be quality. It's good to see some pure fantasy get some play in comics again.

You guys really got to check out Dynamite in upcoming months. They really have something for everyone.

I'd love to be able to believe that nothing will happen and this series will be published on time and all at Dynamite. But the Dabel Brothers track recond scares me too much. I love the work they do, but I'm just too worried that they'll walk away before its finished.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives.

i really hope they can finish this project. I like Wheel of Time a lot and a comic would be defintely a great thing for me. Also the art previews look simply beautiful.

So you have an uninspired writer adapting an uninspired fantasy series.

    How's the art ?

Yeah, serious lack of action is/was my major beef with the books. Looks like I'm gonna be a trade waiter for this though.

I've read all but the last two books.

For my birthday, my wife pre-ordered a subscription for the Dabel Brothers series.

I received issues #00 and #01 then they stopped.
Dynamite Entertainment acquired the title last Dec, but I haven't seen an issue yet. Early this year, my wife received an email from them saying they would start up again..but nothing.

This is ambitious. The books are great but the story lines are very complex. I would love to see how they treat this.

Might be worth dropping Dynamite a line....I know they have an online store, but not sure if they have a direct subscription service...?

As far as I know the Dabels went out of business....any money you gave them might be long gone.

Thanks for the quick suggestion. I have emailed Dynamite but just as with Dabel Brothers I have not received a reply.

Has anyone received issues of the Wheel of Time series? If so what issues have you received? I see #05 is available for pre-order. Can I assume that issues #00, 01, 02, 03, 04 have been released?

Any suggestions on how I should go about getting this comic series without losing my money? So far I have found this whole process frustrating. This is a case where I am willing to give my money to a company but I would like some guarentee that I will receive product. Is this typical?

I don't know what has or hasn't been sent out by subscriptions, but I've picked up issues #1-3 of Eye of the World at my local comic store. The Dynamite issue #1 reprints the Dabel Bros #0 and #1.

The final issue of New Spring (#8) also arrived at my LCS a few weeks ago.

I read the Eye of the World series but not New Spring, and I question why they would EVEN BOTHER to go to anything but the original 3-4 novels which were by far the best ones before Jordan went off on his endless storytelling haze. It's been a while since I read the novels, but I've enjoyed every page of the new comic. I'm not always eager to see my imagination put on the page or movie screen, but I guess in this day and age of adapting everything, I've become a lot more tolerant. I genuinely enjoy seeing the artist interpretations of these characters, especially because they use a style reminiscent to Conan the Barbarian and other fantasy comics I've read. I still fondly remember these characters even though it's been a LOOOOONG time since I read the books. Going with that theme, I don't remember the books verbatim, but it appears the comic books are paying large respects to the details of the story. A few issues in and the future main heroes haven't even left their home town yet.
