Why are Power Girl and Supergirl fighting with their eyes closed?

I was looking at Marvel's trade list for May and there was nothing i was going to buy, thought it would be a cheap month. Then i look at DC and a lot of books are advance solicited to surprise my wallet.

    Absolute All Star Superman
    Blackest Night HC

and possibly Blackest Night Green Lantern HC and GLC HC and Blackest Night Corps Vol 2. HC depending on if i sell my single issues or not.

Is American Vampire a mini? Because it says part three of five or are they talking about the arc?

DETECTIVE COMICS #865 (Still annoyed that I am basically paying $4 for a backup)

    I love REBELS.

The Blackest Night gave the series a good boost.

I think It will make it past issue 20 at least.

What does BRIGHTEST DAY mean to the DC Universe? Is everything from here on out going to be bright afnd shiny? No, BRIGHTEST DAY means something else entirely, something we canít tell you...yet. But we can tell you our heroes will need to rise up more than ever to combat the forces of evil, and a select few will uncover a secret that binds them ALL.
..... aaaand whoever wrote that solicitation just killed most of the interest I had in getting the Brightest Day books.

It sounds like a combination of Final Crisis and Genesis.
