With all due respect to the talented posters here, it's called 'Art of Mike Mignola', not 'Art of Guys Who Like Mike Mignola'. This subject is getting way, way off target.

Most of these guys have their own websites anyway.

    Really?
Wouldn't that be exaggerating just a tad? Don't get me wrong: the site works beautifully on its own and will do without hasty suggestions perfectly. The 'curious objects'-bit might just be invokin' harmless jolliness a bit from some. And for such curiousness, stuff like the Hellboy perfume might fit just the same? I'll shush now, as staying on target will be hard enough as it is.

I recieved my shirt and 3 sketchbooks... pure awesome! The T-shirt rocks! It fits awesome and it's sooo soft... heh. I wouldn't mind more shirts like this (hint, hint)

I can't wait to see what Christine and Mike have planned next. I'm really jazzed and digging this site! It's true: Good things are worth waiting for! And I'm glad my money goes directly to the pockets of the Mignolas and not some third party.

Oh and the sketchbooks rock! Mike's drawing is such an inspiration, It's funny how you look at his work and it hits you like a punch in the gut (but a punch of awesomey goodness). If that's not Fine Art then I don't know what is. Trancendental... I'm off to sketch...

Awesome interview! I wasn't expecting it to be that long (which is an extremely great thing!). Great info, cool stories and a humble as heck Mike. I have to give my props to Mike cause you're way too hard on you're own work (though that's usually the case with many creative and artistic type persons).

Everyone should be watching this vid. Really cool!

Thanks for the heads up Christine.

Loved the video. Mike is way too hard on himself, but I understand this is what makes him Mike. Brilliant stuff.
Can't wait for my 2 sketchbooks.

Great interview! You know it's interesting. I feel like I've seen and read so many Mike interviews at this point that I know his career path nearly as well as he does, but thanks to this video I learned a few new things along the way.

Of particular interest to me are the early years, where Mike travelled to NY on essentially a wing and a prayer, only to find out that his travel companion was nuts and that they may not have a place to stay when they got there! Seemingly insignificant events now (probably even to Mike) given his career and eventual path, but these are things that most wouldn't take a chance on- ever. Mike took a huge risk in going to NY and praying his inking career would explode (or perhaps he just wanted to survive in the short term), but just imagine if he'd decided to stay home instead, toiling away at some menial job until (and if) his comics career happened. We may never have even known his name.

So thanks, Mike, for taking those huge risks, always. And thanks Christine for posting the interview.

Indeed, the big city on a wing and a prayer, probably as scared as alot of his comic characters have been.

Yay! Got my 10 years anniversary book today. A good end to a otherwise sad day.

I just have to say the book was expertly packed it was pure joy to unwrap it from its carefully folded paper packaging. Really made it feel like the exlusive item it is. Thanks!

Amazing what 24 hrs can mean. I checked today and most (if not all by now) of the art that was listed as available on the site is now gone! I'm looking forward to seeing what may follow on the heels of this selection.
