New anime episode is the start of filler arc that ties into the upcoming movie.

We're introduced to a filler character, the giant girl Lily who ate the mini mini fruit, who's trying to save her dad from being locked up in Impel Down. She's actually pretty funny.

But the interesting part is that we get an insight into what Z is planning. He's apparently going to create a Neo Marine Corps that will forcefully take over the Marines' duties and completely destroy the pirate age. The main antagonist of this filler arc is a high position member of this organisation that wants to prove that he deserves to be Z's right hand man.

Also, even filler weather in the New World is freaking insane.

Our filler villain is a muscular long-arm tribe (like Scratchman Apoo) member and his pet is a cannon that's "eaten" the alpacca fruit (at least that's what I'm guessing is going on there). One Piece filler is silly fun.

Honestly, the whole "object eating fruit" thing would make me want to abuse Smile not to create an army of Zoan users, but to basically turn everything I own into a living thing.
