I hope those "other things" aren't just child care. After changing a few diapers she may prefer jumping into fights.

That struck me as odd too. Jubilee's physical strength is now far greater than Kitty's, so Jube would be more of a brawler than her. And Kitty has always been geared more toward stealth.

Hey guys, just recovered from a hard drive crash :(

Anyway, apparently there's a teamup between Jubilee and Captain America in september's A+X.

Rogers best be careful; he is an "older man", which as well all know is relevant to Jubes' interests. Don't know much about Justin Jordan as a writer, but I'd have loved to have seen Marjorie Liu's take on this scenario.

I feel a little shallow for saying this, but along-side the "other things", I really hope Jubilee still gets to bash someone. I'm going to trust for the moment that Wood has a great story arc planned out where Jubes is the subject, not the object. But X-Men is still a superhero comic, and on some basic level, superheroes need to clobber villians to maintain their cred. :p

Singapore is one of the most expensive cities in the world to live in, without many social safety nets.
Thanks for the insight NPC. That sounds like quite a depressing situation, and certainly explains the reaction.

That said lol, I've always wondered how the rest of the X-men got their basic necessities, clothes and costumes paid for. I can't quite imagine Rachel siddling up to Logan and asking daddy for an advance on her allowance. =P And really, what are the kids at the school being trained to do for jobs in the future?
I was actually intrigued by the post-schism plot-twist where neither Cyclops nor Wolverine could get enough cash to finance their school/paramilitary operation. I was rather dissapointed in Wolverine and the X-Men, when they resolved the whole thing with the "Krakoa grows diamond trees!" plot device; it seemed to side-step Wolverine taking responsibility for the consequences of his impulsiveness.

I suppose for the rest who hero on with unlimited (inherited) resources are telling us that only rich kids get to save the world, who knows.
I've been waiting for a series where an unemployed labourer decides to become a superhero, but finds he has to commit petty crimes himself just to finance his "heroism". It'd be magnificent to see the "hero" steal money from a vending machine to buy fuel, each time they drive cross-country to retrieve stolen nuclear warheads in their second hand car. :p

Another thing I was wondering about is how is she travelling around in the sun without effect? I don't know if the vampire ISO team has been retconned out (oh god PLEASE) along with their sunlight-immunity medals. As much as I'd be glad to have Jubilee not angst about avoiding daylight, the story doesn't seem to acknowledge her vampirism much by way of powers or weaknesses. I pray this doesn't parallel her history where her power levels ranged from "insignificant" to potentially apocalyptic depending on which was more convenient to the writer's plot.
Bad news. Confirmation in the other thread that the ISO team's still around and lending Jubes a light-bender. Hopefully they are referenced vaguely and page space isn't wasted on them. Also according to Wood, light-benders are only fully-effective when standing up, so there won't be any more sunbathing at the pool-side.

Thanks so much for the Captain America news!!! I had no idea! Missed seeing that one! :)

Also... the page of Jubilee sunbathing as a vampire is actually from a dream sequence of hers... didn't really happen. :)

Here is Captain America's description of Jubilee from a semi-recent handbook detailing mutants:

I squeed with delight at the surprise mention of Jubilee in A+X when I saw it in the solits!

Can I ask where that Captain America-describing-Jubilee thing came from? I'd be interested to know if any other GenXers appear in the handbook. ;D

Also, I didn't see this posted, so:

Re: X-Men: Battle of the Atom content:
...Jubilee will interact with Young Beast and Young Iceman...
So we're sure that Jubilee will be involved in Battle of the Atom, at least in Wood's two issues (X-Men #5 and #6) and maybe more! :)

Cap seems to have mainly noticed that despite what's happened to her recently, she keeps finding ways to play the hero. I suppose it's true, though. It's hard to keep her down.

I wish they hadn't used that picture, though.

The upcoming A+X issue with Jubilee and the Cap simply must have her broach that subject. I'd rather have some Touching Darkness "But you're still the Petite" for it myself. Was such an adorable moment between Remy and Jubilee.
