lol if only I was 'attracted' to girls. :( lol.. I'm Jubes' pretend boyfriend hahaha
Marjorie M. Liu answered one of my questions in regards to Jubilee!!!:
"There is another character's life that fans are curious about. Please allow Kevin to explain:
You have written Jubilee numerous times in team-ups with X-23, Gambit, and also Wolverine. Each story has captured her personality and relationships with her friends impeccably. It is obvious that you enjoy her character. Now that she is currently not being used by any other writer, do you have any desire or plans to use her in "Astonishing X-Men" (or elsewhere)? I know it would please many of her fans...
I will have to look into this!
Fantastic! Let's all hope that the stars align..."
Even though the answer is short and sort of vague... it obviously gives us a sense that Marjorie is interested in using Jubilee... and will look into it.
I would love for Marjorie Liu to get Jubilee once and for all. However, I am in doubt we will see Jubilee again. She has never been important to Marvel on any level. She is not a Summers brat or supermodel-ish so she is somehow unworthy. It seems they rather shelf her and try to convince us Pixie or some other wanna be is better than her. I know I sound sound sour about this but it's how I feel. "Look Pixie wears bright colors, we are going to put her on the team now that that other girl... what was her name... has been removed." I do not get it.
Jubilee rocks, but few writers what anything to do with her. Its like a punishment if they are made to write her at all. However, once they do they find her a very good voice for the common sense or needed Captain Obvious moments. The few writers that do like her never make it long enough to really do anything with her.
I would love for her to come back but I am not holding my breath. Marvel is not getting a dime of my money until it happens though.
Cyclops, Storm, Jubilee, X-23, Sage, Threnody, Gambit, and Dr. Nemesis!!!
Cyclops is not the new Magneto... he would not waste his time with Rogue.
Pixie is being pushed for marketing reasons. Her pink hair & fairy look is an attempt to attract younger girls away from the magical girl manga they'd rather be reading.
Only problem with that is the stories in Marvel are nothing like that and the girls reading Mangas are doing so for the overly romantic stories wrapped in action. Marvel cannot compete with that. Can you imagine what would happen if the X-Men became like Bleach? Awesomeness but all of fandom would rise and slay them. This is like the vampire thing. One vampire does not a fandom make. You have to go all in, build a universe for the vampires or manga-ish stories not inject one stereotype of the genre and think the money will just roll in.
Good point though.

Saw this on deviant art, and thought it was too adorable not to share. Careful going to the artist's page. Some of the stuff may be not safe for a conservative workplace (panty shots of female scooby doo characters lol O_o)

What the HELL does Editorial have against Jubilee?? Seriously?? It's the most frustrating thing in the world when a writer actually WANTS to write a character you love, but isn't given the go-ahead, for whatever reason. Mad props to Wood for wanting to though, eh?2) Will you tie up any loose story threads that Mr. Gischler left behind (Jubilee, for example)?
I am not. Ha-ha, that sounds bad -- like it was a willful decision I made. I dunno, I was asked by Editor Jeanine Schaefer for a pitch on the book and what I gave her wasn't really using any of Victor's material, and everyone seemed cool with that. I should also note that Jubilee is not on the roster either, but that one wasn't my call. I would have loved to write Jubilee... again actually, as I first did way back in 2000 or so.
Not really surprised everyone was glad to be done with Gischler's stuff, lol. Read he had known for a while that he was going to be taken off the book. Maybe I read that in this thread. Meh, you get the point. Hopefully.![]()
I suspect they feel Gischler screwed up so badly, they have to have a cooldown period before using her again. Though it does warm my heart slightly that the Jubilee-Lord Deathstrike fight was better executed than any fight I have read in the AvsX event (especially those crappy "AvsX VS" fight issues).
LOL. Though to be fair to Gischler, editorial has to take an PARTIAL share of the blame. Pretty much all the basic plot ideas and forced teamups were X-Editorial's doing. On the other hand, a good writer can take a seemingly dumb premise and make something interesting out of it (see everything involving Vampire Jubilee not written by Gischler :p).Not really surprised everyone was glad to be done with Gischler's stuff, lol. Ororo Munroe and Jubilation Lee
Ororo Munroe: I have no powers, my body cannot fly. But I no longer mind, for in my heart and soul -- where it truly matters -- I soar higher than the stars!
Okay I am having a girly moment:
Who in the Marvel U should Jubilation be romantically linked to and why?
Years ago I would have said Logan or Sync. I know people consider Logan her "family" but I think they could have worked. Sync was obvious until he went with Monet, boooooo.
Now I would love to see her with Kid Omega. She is a little bit older than he is but I think she could reign him in a bit and the conversations would be interesting to say the least if a really good writer got their hands on the pair. The occasional slap to the back of head would work too.
Who do you think?

Anyone but Shane Shooter!
Jubilee was written well with Rockslide in 'Wolverine and Jubilee...' so that could be a potential friendship of sorts.
Vampire or not, it would be cool to see her with someone outside of the X-Men universe... someone on the young avengers would be cool. Justice from the New Warriors would be good...
he is a leader-type, and also recognized that she was Wondra, even when she had her mask on. They haven't met before that, if much, on panel... so it
was interesting to see that he knew exactly who she was when he came face to face with 'Wondra.' Maybe he had an interest in her at the time. Come to
think of it, I actually think that Jubilee should have just kept her Wondra suit and gear when she was brought back into the X-Men. It is a lot less of a change than
the editors deciding to turn her into a vampire. Plus, Jubilee as Wondra actually worked. She gained a great deal of page time, honed her leadership skills, and grew up
in the pages of New Warriors (even though the series wasn't that good at all.) Her using the tech strength, durability, and flight in the X-Men would have been fairly easy...
Thinking about it, here is a comparison of Jubilee's Wondra and Vampire abilities:
Wondra- Increased strength (3 out of 7,) durability (4 out of 7,) and flight by use of hover discs. At times, she was shown to fly without the discs. Pym particles were also used to shrink enemies. She also had a ghost mode on her suit, enabling her to temporarily phase. Her strength and durability are listed, however, as not being as strong as her Vampire traits.
Vampire- Superhuman strength (4 out of 7,) superhuman durability (6 out of 7), superhuman speed (3 out of 7,) superhuman agility, superhuman stamina, superhuman
reflexes, fangs and retractable fingernails/claws, immortality, and shapeshifting into mist. However, Jubilee cannot spend long moments of time in sunlight, be around religious symbols for too long, and can weaken if she does not consume blood (animal or human.)
Jubilee's Wondra abilities may be weaker or slower than her vampire abilities... but she was able to fly/hover, shrink enemies, and also phase at times. While the vampire
abilities are pretty sweet, as I'd have to admit, there are several weaknesses and limitations that she currently faces being a vampire. Jubilee's weaknesses while using her
tech gear were basically that, if damaged, the gear could malfuction. She was essentially like a non-energy-blasting version of Iron Man, exchanging the beams for shrinking and phasing.
I'm curious as to why Marvel decided to ignore her tech gear and instead turn her into a vampire.
Good question... my first choice would've been Synch, obviously.
Jubes and Jono are more of a friendship than a romantic pairing.
The most interesting potential romance so far has been Jubes and Laura, I think.Chock-full of "shocking encounters!"
I don't like the idea of her with Rockslide as anything but a friend. He doesn't even have junk! (lol)
Where did that comparison of Wondra and Vampire Jubilee come from?
