Default Flash! Bang! PAF! Jubilee Appreciation

    JUBILEE

I'll start off by saying, it was refreshing to see someone like her be given a chance to play an active role on the X-teams back in the day, thet even though she lacked longevity, in comparison to characters like Storm and Psylocke, she was already kicking butt, whether it's helping out in Genosha, going to the outer limits of space, and eventually having a major role in Generation X...

Why should you care about Jubilee?

    First of all
    http://forums.comicbookresources.com...d.php?t=249134
People care whether or not she's in an X-book.

Also, she's been around longer than a lot of these new characters, and by new, I mean the current students. I appreciate that she has matured throughout the years and can be looked up to by most; she's not perfect and not liked by everyone and that's ok. She's not just Wolverine's sidekick, but she's her own character, and grew out of being the Robin to his Batman. She's lived and lost, whether it be a friend or her powers. Even then, she was strong enough to overcome all those obstacles and come out on top in the end. She has her own look going on for her. She's not over-elegant, but is no plain jane, and dares to be different fashion-wise. Her powers have potential to be deadly, as seen in the Age of Apocalypse and according to those who have observed them. It's a shame they're gone, but here's hoping they come back and she can do some awesome stuff with them, not that making fireworks isn't. Overall, I appreciate Jubilee, I hope you can too.

Her nationality is American, not Chinese. It's different from race.

What should Jubilee's new catchphrase be?

    Bejoobies?

    Bohunk?

    Other? (Make one up!)

    ALSO...

How were you first introduced to Jubilee?

For me, it was the animated series in the 90s.

Considering Bohunk is a derogatory term for Eastern Europeans, if I'm not mistaken... that should not be her catchphrase.

Besides, FERAL had it first, yo.

Oh yeah... big ups to JOOBZ.

it was the animated series and she annoyed me as hell in that. I didnt like how she got such heavy focus in it. I think my first comic with her in it was UXM 303. What a powrful issue. She annoyed me as well in the beginning but she really turned things around in the end and I felt for her

LOL Bohunk. Some Eastern European was chatting me up the other day, I resisted the urge to ask about that.

The cartoon. Love bratty Jubilee. Her and Rogue, Gambit, and cyclops were my original favorites growing up.

I miss her and she can be a force to be reckoned with, given the writer.

really hate that pic of jubilee and jean. wow, the x-office really tried their hardest to turn jean into some 40-year old den-mother in the 90s, didn't they?

I didn't warm to her at first, but eventually I thought Jubilee was okay. Created to fill the Kitty Pryde vacuum caused by Excalibur, certainly, but she had her moments when she wasn't written only as a Kitty Pryde knock-off, particularly in Generation X.
Latterly she's become rather uninteresting, but that's more to do with her being too different from the original character for me to care about her, although whoever called the Nation X outing as reading more about the writers' mid-life crisis than a twentysomething woman touching base with school friends was on the money, as I cannot read the dialog in that story with a straight face anymore.

So yeah, before her mid-life crisis, I dug Jubilee.

I went for "I like Jubilee, she's a pretty good character." I guess I'd probably like her more if she was more of a "current"character so to say (she's a rarity in X-Comics these days as compared to dunno one or 2 decades ago?), not quite my generation, but she's fun whenever she appears and I look forward to seeing her in this Oneshot where she calls Wolvy to NY.

I've liked her since I read this one short-story with her and Storm in Egypt (anyone know it?), but she doesn't quite make the fav list. Though this might change, all grown up her seems interesting...

She is not one of my favorites but I still like her. I think she was better in Generation X than in Uncanny X-Men though.

She has some really fun lines in Age of Apocalypse too.
