She was far more intriguing than either Bane or Batman; Those two clowns were running around wrecking the city, while she was busy trying to survive the fallout. That's silly. I figured the entire thing out when I was in third grade. I'm not saying I had sex when I was a third grader, rather that I was flipping through one of my Mom's romance novels, read the purple prose sex scene (something to the affect of "He plunged his swollen rod into her quivering mound" or something such, although I was a little lost on what a nipple was and why it was standing). Besides, Diana might be a virgin but the warrior caste on her Island certainly were not and no matter the gender, jocks like to talk.

Oh, I absolutely agree. Sex sells, so men and women can both be objectified to make a buck. I do think that women are subjected to this practice more than men, however.

I think it's the overtness of how women are exploited that makes it seem more numerous. Advertising for women tends to be a bit more subtle about things, whereas when they want to get things sold to dudes they get a touch more explicit. I like to think that this is because men are more visual in nature and it takes a little more effort to get our attention, but odds are it's because we're dumber and being subtle with us is a wasted effort.

I haven't watched porn in years so I can't judge but the concept of porn allows for good stories with sex in them. So I would say yes.

Pandering to fans is annoying and made me feel like an idiot for buying the comic. It's unnecessary and adds nothing to the plot.

If you equate porn with Catwoman #1 then obviously you need to make use of the internet more thoroughly because the scenes in Catwoman could be seen during family hour on network television.

The idea that Michelle Pheiffer was better is laughable. To me, Pheiffer and Berry where memorable because of how awful they were. Literally nothing like Catwoman at all personality wise but I suppose Pheiffer was fun to watch because she was hamming it up so much (lthat's the biggest compliment to the Burton films is that they ham it up so much it's hard not to laugh at them).

Pfeiffer was great, but she wasn't playing Catwoman. She was playing a new character that superficially looked a lot like Catwoman.

Halle Berry played the same character, but was not very good at it.

You know, I'm all for more realistic women in comics, I hate Pwer Girls boob window with a vengeance, but coem on, it's Cat-Woman. She's the ultimate femme fatale.
Sex appeal is a huge part of her character. You can't handle sex appeal at all, don't read books like Cat-Woman or Vampirella.

why not? film and litritchure can and has been used to cater to every type of subgrene in existance. why cant comics. yes i dont think that should completly take over or be the point of a mainstream comic, but i really dont think it should be completly cast out ether.
like the catwoman #1 people are calling it nothing but T&A but i still got plenty of enjoyment from the story at the same time as i was enjoying the attractice visuals. and i think it was a damn fine set up issue for that arc. like i definatly dont think the same level of T&A woould be appropritate for a Wonder woman or huntress title but i feel it fits Fine for catwoman. but most of the people on here say it should not be put in any comic ever.

I didn't say comics, I said superhero comics. Alan Moore did a story called "Lost Girls" which was supposed to be "intelligent porn." That's obviously fine. But superheroes are power fantasies geared to more general audiences.
