There are like 2 or 3 perfectly good general LoSH threads on the first page right now, is it any wonder that none of the Legion fans are giving a one-post wonder of a thread any action? If you want to talk Legion shop check out this thread and this thread.

i really don't understand when they move threads around. I mean if a conversation is moving along in a thread it's just confusing to move it. And there aren't a lot of Legion threads.
Sigh. Anyway, I read LoSH #9 and I have to say that was a pretty good issue.

Hmm. Ok. Paul seemed to reprimand me on discussing the issue. But maybe I misread him.
I'm sure this was discussed before but that last thread that was folded into this one was all about how they searched and couldn't find this thread, so they started a new one. And there were some good conversations going. When a thread is yanked into a new one, I think it throws off people who were looking for the original thread. And if it's active the conversation threads get askewed. This thread sadly isn't too active so it's easy to follow. IDK, I just think it's weird.
the reasons I don't like Keith do have to a lot to do with his tenure as writer of the legion during the 5 year gap and interviews.
1) his love to kill Karate Kid because he doesn't get why he's in the legion.
2) his art work...not at all the same as it was during the GDS. It looks sloppy and the legion should in my opinion be crisp, clean and idealistic.
3) his temper-tantrums with dc and fandom during which in one that he walked off the v4 book he blew up the earth. Sorry if that's how you handle the pressure then i don't want you on the book.
and about issue #9 best issue so far. Dream Girl acting like she did during the GDS kicking butt and taking names. She doesn't succeed but it still shows she's not just a pretty face she's a fighter. The revelation that the legion broke the Time Trapper's Iron Curtain of time...that they can go more than just 30 days into their future. Maybe they'll go forward in time to reach the beginning? Star Boy quitting in protest over the legion's arms being tied due to diplomacy matters to resuce Dream Girl and Brainy. And the big surprise of em all....How can Validus and Garridan Ranzz exist together in the same time if they're supposed to be the same Person??? We know there are some new things that in this legion's timeline that weren't in the original but that was among the many things revealed to be the same...so...why? big Sub-Plot....which would also explain why he (Validus) appeared in Legion of 3 worlds.
The issues are on comixology. They're awesome. I love Dream Girl!
I liked issue 9. But then I like any Legion issue where Ultra-Boy gets to kick a little ass.
Though... his power usage in this issue is a little odd if you think about it a little too hard.
Levitz is apparently making a point that if U-Boy punches someone with super-strength but doesn't switch to invulnerability fast enough he can break his arm? I've always just sort of assume while Jo is using Super Strength he has just enough toughness not to hurt himself (also while Invulnerable he's a little stronger then your average person with the same physical build, because invulnerability would prevent him from feeling the strain of exertion ordinary people would) or at the very least he instinctually goes Invulnerable at the exact right moment to prevent hurting himself. I guess, not?
Also his super-speed flight path raises a few questions. I've always assumed that when Jo flies with his flight ring he just goes invulnerable so he can use the ring's maximum acceleration without worrying about pesky things like g-forces and wind resistance. But if he's zipping around making fast turns you have to assume he's using Super-Speed so he can react fast enough not to slam head first into stuff when going Mach-3 or something. But if he's using super-speed while in flight you'd think he wouldn't be able to fly at super-speeds due to aforementioned physical laws of motion.
Has his natural flight power ever been really compared to Flight Ring flight?
Did I mention I just love over thinking Ultra-Boy's powers? I LOVE ULTRA BOY'S POWERS. THEY ARE GENIUS. HE IS THE BEST CHARACTER EVER.

I look forward to reading all of this in trade, Levitz's writing reads better in trade, a lot like Bendis's writing, everything done in two issues can easily be done in one. Except Levitz knows how to write a conversation.
I suppose that Fate's Faith has a point in the legion being a little too safe. Though I understand why Levitz is doing that, the legion has a small following, if he takes big risks he might alienate the fanbase, which was already alienated because of the revamp. It would be nice if there was a bigger, bolder, risk taking storyline, maybe that's the cosmic event that's coming soon. Im also going to get the original legion lost before the revamp version (which doesn't come out until the fall, like the Flash, and Aquaman.) The price keeps flucuating on the hardcover, so I'll either buy a used one or wait for the soft cover.
Oh yes, I just recalled another Ultra Boy oddity (tm) from this issue. When Jo uses his Flash vision to blast the alien gunk off his arm. Strikes me as a good way to lose an arm. You're not Invulnerable when you're using flash vision Jo!

I always thought Jo at times went back and forth with the Ultra Energy to accomplish somethings at times. Strength..Invunerability...strength...just going switching at a high rate enough that he doesn't hurt himself and power thru something he needs to punch. Probably did the same with his vision..switched from flash vision to invunerablity and back again at a high rate.
